Visitors from all over the Universe will be at Haunted Highlander…Are You Ready! Haunted Highlander is just days away. Below is information to help you navigate your way through the event.
PRE-RACE INFORMATION
Parking is free.
Location: 42W813 Reinking Rd. Pingree Grove, IL 60140
Check In: Check in will open at 5:30pm. You will go to the ticket booth near parking as you enter the farm. As you arrive at the booth go to the one that has the Haunted Highlander sign. The other booth is for farm admission. **Note: If you arrive before 5:30pm, you will not be allowed to enter as you need a wristband. Check in will be fast, as you will just be verified and receive your race wristband.
Spectators: $10 entry fee, this gives you access to the Goebbert's attractions that are open and allows you to cheer on your runner near the start and finish line. Unlike our obstacle races where you are allowed to wonder the course and watch the racers, spectators will not be permitted to enter the course area, due to safety for themselves, the actors and runners.
Headlamps: Headlamps or lights are required for all runners. This is for your safety. You can find these at Walmart, Menards, Amazon, etc. if you forget yours we will have headlamps available for purchase near the start/finish lines.
Costumes: You may wear a costume as long as it does not hinder your vision, or is a potential trip hazard. You may register with the starter if you would like to be considered for the best costume award.
PARTICIPATING IN THE EVENT
Start: You must have a racer wristband to enter the start area, anyone found on the course without a wristband will be asked to leave if their name is not verified as having registered. If you are late for your heat, do not just go, wait for the next heat.
Finish: Once finished, make sure to go to the award tent located by the finish line to receive your medal and t-shirt. After you grab your swag, reenter the farm and enjoy the live music, food, and festivities.
Pace: This is a fun event, not a competition. If you wish to run please advise those you would be passing "RUNNER ON YOUR LEFT".
Actors, Scenes, & Animatronics: At no time are the runners permitted to touch an actor, animatronic, or scene while on the course. Actors may follow you but will not interfere or touch a participant at any time.
Merchandise: Limited items will be for sale, including patches, sweatshirts, winter hats.
Volunteers: Please try to be on-site at 5:30pm, let the ticket booth know you are there to volunteer. Once in proceed to the start line and locate the costume tent for assignment.
