An active weather pattern could develop next weekend into the week of March 9 for parts of the Desert Southwest. Because of the signal from guidance in this pattern shift, the CPC has highlighted parts of the region in a low-end risk for 'heavy precipitation' and 'heavy snow' during this period in the experimental risk for heavy snow and risk for heavy precipitation outlook. Areas out side of the highlighted risk also have a chance to see precipitation. This zone will continue to be fine-tuned over the coming days as confidence increases in possible precipitation amounts and placement
