Wind River Disc Golf Club

Wind River Disc Golf Club This club promotes the growth of disc golf in western Wyoming. WHAT IS DISC GOLF? Disc golf is played much like traditional golf. WHO PLAYS DISC GOLF?

Instead of a ball and clubs players use a flying disc, or Frisbee®. The sport was formalized in the 1970's, and shares with "ball golf" the object of completing each hole in the fewest number of strokes (or, in the case of disc golf, fewest number of throws). A disc is thrown from a tee area to a target which is the "hole". The hole can be one of a number of disc golf targets; the most common is c

alled a Pole Hole® which is an elevated metal basket. As a player progresses down the fairway, he or she must make each consecutive shot from the spot where the previous throw has landed. The trees, shrubs, and terrain changes located in and around the fairways provide challenging obstacles for the golfer. Finally, the "putt" lands in the basket and the hole is completed. Disc golf can be played from school age to old age, making it one of the greatest lifetime fitness sports available. Specially-abled and disabled participate, giving them the opportunity to take part in a mainstream activity. Because disc golf is so easy to learn, no one is excluded. Players merely match their pace to their capabilities, and proceed from there. WHY SHOULD I PLAY? Disc golf is a recreational activity that provides upper and lower body conditioning, aerobic exercise, and promotes a combination of physical and mental abilities that allow very little risk of physical injury. Players of limited fitness levels can start slowly and gradually increase their level of play as fitness improves. Scheduling is also flexible; a round takes one to two hours, and may be played alone. Disc golf offers year-round fitness, even in rain or snow. Perhaps the greatest attribute of the sport is the expense - or rather, the lack of it. A professional quality disc costs less than $15, and it only takes one for basic play. With Rendezvous just a few days away wanted to send one last post with some FYI info;
-Mosquitoes are out so come prepared
- Registration and awards will be held at the Later home. Check in starts at 8 am
- 💯 no fire works are allowed, the only time the cops have been called to my home in 10 years was people in our group setting off fireworks.
-If your camping bring your own canopies, not a lot of shade.
-In-between rounds most like to cool off in the lake so bring swim wear. I will have kayaks and paddle boards available for these that would like to get out on the lake.
-Lakeside has been very gracious and I encourage everyone to purchase lunch there to show your support. There are cold sandwiches, build your own burgers and a chicken cordon bleu option all around $10.
-Bring cash, this is a fun event with a beer and shot tent, mulligans for non pro players, CTP’s, ace pot and raffle.
-Friday night wild game party is on!! I would ask that everyone helps out with the fixings. I will provide all the meat but could use help with the randoms.
-Me and my family go to great lengths to make this a special event and open our home to all so please be respectful, help out how ever you can.
-Bars are open 24/7 and we live just a few blocks from town so if you want to get out and see live music and be joy the crowds it’s walking distance.
- sorry to be long winded, just want everyone to know what to expect. Can’t wait to see you all here!!!!!!!!

Baskets are back in!! Just a heads up the course has been pulled for 2 years and now I only have one week to clean up T pads and get the course tournament ready… point is, it will be a little rougher than years past but who cares right!! Time to get our rendezvous on!! Registration will also be held at my house this year along with awards. I think this is a great move because it will minimize how much we have to bring up to the course and when it’s over everyone can come back, get comfy and enjoy awards and games in the comfort of our spot, no driving. For anyone that needs it my address is

307 Quartz ave, PINEDALE, WY 82941

See you all in a week!!!
