One of my favorite slapper drills, picked up from Rhea S. Taylor 👏🥎

One of the easiest things to do as a slapper is fly open too early because we’re already thinking about getting to first base as fast as possible.

I love this drill because it gives my slappers a little overexaggerated feel for staying through the ball and working in direction first before taking off to first. Feel it exaggerated in the drill, then let it clean up in the box. 🔥

This drill teaches my pitchers to lead with their ________ to create better direction, sequence, and power through their pitch.

The right movement here can completely change how efficiently you transfer energy from the ground up. It’s one of those small details that makes a BIG difference.

BFFs, 10U pitchers, and two totally different lesson plans 💪🥎

Group lessons don’t mean cookie-cutter coaching. These two may be working side by side, but they’re each focused on their own mechanical fixes with drills tailored specifically to what they need.

That’s the beauty of training together — they get accountability, competition, encouragement, and a whole lot of laughs… while still getting individualized development.

We ended this lesson with a little challenge called Call the Shot + Hit the Spot 🎯

One partner calls the pitch and location, the other has to execute it. Miss the spot? Burpees. Hit it? You’re safe. 😅

Shoutout to McKnight Softball for the challenge game! I saw her do it and knew I had to try it with these two, and it was so much fun.
