My name is Wes Miller and I am just getting a start in carving spearing decoys. I am avid outdoorsman and have always had an interest in the art of hand carved decoys. I decided to give it a shot on my own and found that it is something that I really enjoy and decided that I want to share my work with the dark house spearing community. Being that I am a new carver I am always looking for advice an

d ways to improve my decoys. If there is something that you don't see that I have, I can custom make the size and shape you want and paint in the colors you want. I hope to be bringing some decoys to carving events in Minnesota summer and fall of 2015.

I apologize it had been so long since I posted anything on my page it has been a busy year of construction for me and I haven't been working on any decoys. With layoff fast approaching it is time to get back at it. I am excited to see some new
likes coming in over the last few months and wanted to offer a little contest up to my artistic fans. The contest is for a logo for my dark house spearing decoys. I am thinking that winner of this contest will be given choice of two decoys they want made and a day long spearing trip to a lake to be decided. Your artwork will be displayed as the profile picture of my page as well. I have a little sketch of what I have in mind for the logo but I am open to ideas. I have an idea for what font I want below but I am open to different ideas too. The arrows on the side of the name would be a graphic drawing of Northern Pike like the one I have pictured. One would be striking down and one striking up. I will also have this posted on my decoy page for my followers good luck I look forward to seeing the artwork this contest brings.

Finally got my first two spearing decoys pretty much finished still have to put in the eye loops and make sure they are well balanced. For those of you that are interested in dark house spearing or have friends and family that do it point them over to my spearing decoy page. I will have a few ready for purchase soon once I test them and make sure they are good to go. I am just getting started with my carved decoys there will be more to come.
