We've had a few questions on the paint contest for 54th Annual The Great American Demo Derby (Sponsored by Southern Maintenance & Repair) so here is a reminder:
PAINT CONTEST THEME:
For those who forgot, or who haven't seen it yet, the paint contest theme for 54th Annual The Great American Demo Derby is "American Heroes: Real or Fictional"
Examples of "fictional" heroes include Captain America, G.I. Joe, etc.
If you want to go the pro wrestling route, Kurt Angle, Hulk Hogan and Sgt. Slaughter are examples.
RULES:
• There is no additional cost to participate in the paint contest.
• Paint schemes ONLY, no accessories or decorations (including stickers) added onto the car. NO vinyl graphics or logos.
Use of stencils is allowed and encouraged.
• No profanity and/or derogatory phrases or messaging. No candy or other objects thrown from the vehicle.
• Drivers are allowed to wear costumes or themed apparel if they choose. This is not required.
• All cars participating in the paint contest MUST compete in the derby. Thus, they must pass inspection to be considered.
• Finalists will be announced at the drivers' meeting. The winner will receive $100 cash and a trophy.
• All paint contest participants must have passed inspection by the drivers' meeting. DRIVERS DO NOT HAVE TO PAINT THE CAR THEMSELVES.
Since this is a patriotic-themed event, if you want to run with American flags, that's fine. They just won't be considered part of the overall design.
