After Sunday’s race at Belle Clair, we wanted to give everyone an update on our racing plans.

Unfortunately, we came away with extensive damage to the car, including the right front and a significant amount of body damage. Because of that, we’re going to take a little time off to go through the entire car from front to back and make sure everything is repaired and back to 100% race-ready.

Our focus now is getting this car lined out and ready for the Du Quoin Mile on September 5th & 6th.

Weekend Recap – Belle-Clair Speedway 🏁

What a weekend at the inaugural event at Belle-Clair Speedway!

We unloaded for hot laps, and right away the car felt solid. We rolled off P2 in the heat race and WE WON THE HEAT! 🔥 The car was absolutely on rails, and that win kept us out of the B-Main.

The feature lineup was set by passing points, so even with the heat race win, we started P11. The car was fast, but unfortunately the track had some rough spots. The driver in front of us caught a hole, got out of shape, and there was nowhere for us to go. We made contact, bent up the right front, and had to restart at the tail of the field.

From there, we made the decision to stay up top, avoid the rough holes, and save what we had left for the Du Quoin Mile. We were able to finish the night with a P8.

Overall, we’ll take the positives from the night. The speed was there, the car was on rails, and picking up the heat race win shows we’re headed in the right direction. Huge thank you to our crew, sponsors, family, and everyone who supports the 71 machine. We’ll get it fixed up and be ready to do it again! 💪🏁
