Such a sad feeling today. We are in California visiting and we stopped by “Rancho del Rio” and said our good-byes. Tears fell, anger arose, and sighs happened. This ranch was the place of my first “horse show” on my first horse in the late 1970s. It later became my healing place & my refuge. It became my weekly volunteer spot to my part time job. Moved to my full-time career and where I decided to become a certified therapeutic riding instructor. Then the last five years it also became home! I met great friends, taught hundreds possibly thousands of kids and adults to ride horses, work with schools, scouts, group homes, and almost every vulnerable population serving our community! I learned, I cried, I sweated, I laughed, I partied, I danced, and I literally grew up at Rancho del Rio. I will never forget my time at RDR. I will never forget my ”sensi” who mentored me deeper into the horses world (RIP). I will never forget ALL of you who entered my life thru the world of horses! Thank you to the ranch that holds so much of my past!!!!!
