Team Blissful Jumpers

Team Blissful Jumpers 2 Humans and 4 crazy doggos. Focusing on canine fitness and sports. Primarily dock diving. Hi! I'm Kagen and I was adopted from RUFF Rescue.

When I was found I weighed only 41
lbs. and I am now a healthy 74 lbs. I was emaciated, Heartworm Positive, and VERY scared of men! Thankfully for me, I was taken in as a stray in Clayton, NC by an incredibly kind Animal Control officer (Angie Lee), and she
contacted RUFF rescue about taking me into the program. This is where my foster mom (now my adoptive mom Cassie) came into the picture. She

works at Family Pet Animal Hospital where I was taken to get my rabies vaccine. As soon as she met me she knew she wanted to foster me...and in her heart of hearts knew I would be her furever dog :) I do unfortunately have Chronic Renal (Kidney) Failure as a result of my extreme emaciation and Heartworm Disease. I am being managed quite well with medication and a special diet. I started my dock diving career in May of 2015, and have come so very far from my first jump of 13 feet. I now average in the 17 to 18 foot range and have been known to go farther from time to time. I am a work in progress. I am learning ropes at extreme vertical and speed retrieve. I have a huge heart and try very hard to always make my mom happy. That and I LOVE the water!! So if I'm jumping and swimming I am one happy pup!!

This guy is truly one of the happiest dogs I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. He is basically Buddy the Elf personified! May we all be lucky enough to find the level of happy the Krueger is on a random Tuesday morning at some point in our lives! 🤣💜

IDS Cannonball Splash 2026 Recap:

The 3 brown pointy eared doggos ™️ as well as Kevin and I had a great time this weekend out at Sliding G Ranch for their last event before the IDS Championships in September. Doug and Colleen do an amazing job and truly foster a welcoming and supportive atmosphere which I just love! 💜

Caper: I just smile every time I’m on the dock with this guy! At over 12 years old he’s continuing to look amazing and feeling good after jumping which is always first and foremost in my mind. He had super solid jumps of 18’9” and 19’4” which got him into finals where he won the Legend Rising Star division with a beautiful 19’7”!! He also swam a 6.986 in Velocity.

Klepto: I stole him again for this event (I swear I’m giving him back to Kevin soon, lol!). I’m giving him the full dock whenever that’s available, with the organizations that haven’t randomly taken away 4 feet of dock ( ) and he LOVES that! Getting an extra stride is what he needs for sure to get much past 20’. This weekend he had jumps of 19’10” and 21’9” (which is an IDS personal best!!) and won the Horizon Legend Superstar division with a 21’3”! He also had a PB in Velocity of 5.812!!

Krueger: This guy and I have been working hard to improve his big air jumps by helping him get closer to the end of the dock. I’ve noticed the past few events he’s been leaving anywhere from 3 to 5 feet early which definitely affects our scores. He’s loving early, and high throws and has been getting much closer to the end of the dock! (I promised him it’s not lava!!) He had a new Horizon PB of 25’7” on Saturday and he tied that on Sunday and won the Horizon Open Superstar division with a 25’4”!! He also had a new PB in Eclipse with a 23’ grab (we’ve been working on that one all season and it felt amazing!) and was super speedy in Velocity with a 4.623!

I’m so proud of all 3 of them and can’t wait to see everyone back at Sliding G the weekend of September 11-13th for the IDS Championships! It promises to be a ton of fun! 💜🤩

What. A. Day!!! Starting with van trouble and ending with 2 PBs for Krueger, 1 PB for Klepto and a PB (for his 12 year old season!) for Capes! It was a rough start (and we’re still not totally sure what’s up with the van, fingers crossed for nothing too serious), but a fantastic rest of the day for the Brown Pointy Eared Doggos of Team Blissful Jumpers!!

Thanks again to seapawsaquatics for such a great time this weekend!

Klepto was first place Superfly Senior. He had very consistent jumps ranging from 19’2” to 19’6”. I had so many fun jumping him as Kevin has mostly been jumping him this season!

Krueger did a better job finding the end of the dock and not leaving about 4-5’ early! I’ve been playing with some different things to work on this and for now it seems that early and high throws seem to be improving things. Fingers crossed! He won Superfly Pro with a really pretty 24’2” jump!

So proud of both of these guys! 💜🤩🎉

Kevin, Krueger, Klepto and I had an amazing time out at seapawsaquatics for their SRS Coastal Splash yesterday! It’s an absolutely BEAUTIFUL facility and their event was perfectly run and so much fun! Krueger and Klepto even won their respective divisions earning beautiful ribbons and stunning metal SRS logo signs (will get pictures today!) AND an invite to the SRS Crown Championships! Pretty darn good day for sure! 🤩💜🎉

Krueger and I had such a fun weekend in Kentucky! We attended Tin Woof Inn’s Joy to the Worlds event and had so much fun catching up with friends!

Our big air was a little off as he was leaving ~ 3 to 4 feet early pretty consistently this weekend. So, big air scores ranged from 20’something to 22’something. They were quite pretty jumps and all looked similar with either backhand or underhand throws. We’ll be doing some striding work to see if we can clean that up a bit (fingers crossed)!

EV looked awesome with strong, clean grabs through 7’4” and good attempts at 7’6”.

Speed was middle of the road. He had a 5.7 on a 0.3 reaction time (ugh, sorry buddy)! And a 5.5 on a 0.09 reaction time.

We ended up 1st overall in EV and a close 1st overall in Iron Dog as well as 3rd overall in Speed Retrieve! He was 6th place seed for Pro Finals but I ended up heading home so that it wasn’t a crazy late night drive.

We also gave Dueling Dogs a try! He’s definitely intrigued! He did some solitary single lane runs and handled that with no problems, then we did a run with a seasoned dueling competitor and he didn’t seem overly phased, however for that practice he was out pretty early and didn’t seems to even truly notice the other dog. The first run in our first qualifying duel the reaction times were super close a 0.05 for me, and 0.08 for the other lane. Actually running and jumping beside another dog DEFINITELY got his attention. He did it, but was looking all around, lots of splashing, and just generally seemed a bit out of sorts. I bought back in, but, totally screwed up my light count with a poorly timed blink on my part, and false started. He looked great in that duel but again I think that’s since he was well out in front. When it came time for finals, my hope was that he’d slowly improve and figure out the game as we progressed. However he had other thoughts and for a first for me with any dog, he ran hard when let go, but didn’t jump. It was another run where he broke evenly with the other dog and I think he just overthought it. I believe we’ll give it one more go and hopefully be able to practice with another seasoned dog and see what he thinks. 💜
