Big day for the Jr. High Mohawks!

We traveled to Kennett and picked up two strong wins—beating Risco JV and Kennett 9th grade, both by 10 points.

These guys are starting to understand what it takes to win. Hustle showed up big today—we stepped in and took several charges, drawing 4 successfully.

Great work, team. Enjoy a few days off, then it’s back to it next week at Rector and Rib City.

Final day of Jr. High Camp at Pocahontas

Our first game was against Bay, and we came away with a hard-fought 4-point win. The next three games were against larger schools, and we showed ourselves that we can compete with anybody.

In Game 2, we went back and forth with Westside for three quarters and led for much of the first half before they pulled away late.

Game 3 was against a very physical and aggressive GCT team. They jumped out to a big lead, but our guys battled back and cut it to within two points before eventually falling by 10.

The final game featured GCT’s 8th grade team against our 8th graders. We started slow and weren’t as physical as we needed to be, but that didn’t last long. We responded with toughness and aggression and turned it into a competitive game.

Going 1-3 doesn’t look great on paper, but today we saw exactly what we needed to see. I couldn’t be happier with the way this team responded to adversity and competed against tough competition.

We get a short rest and are back at it tomorrow with two more challenging games against Risco JV and Kennett 9th Grade.

I guess they are wore out after 8 games and a baseball game in 24 hours! Not very often you get a quiet bus ride with this group.

Jr. High Mohawks kicked off the summer with four straight games at Pocahontas, finishing 3-1 on the day. They picked up wins over Doniphan and South Pemiscot (twice), with their only loss coming to Pocahontas by four points.

These guys left it all on the floor, battling through four consecutive games in a hot gym and showing tremendous effort, toughness, and teamwork. Proud of the way they competed from start to finish.

We’re back at it again tomorrow. Go Mohawks! 🏀💪

As our season comes to an end, I want to thank all the parents for your support to our boys programs and the sacrifices you make. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your child’s Athletic journey.

Thank you to our Administration for all you do for our Athletics. It is greatly appreciated. Thank you to all of the volunteers for running the concession stand. Thank you Mr.Jeff, Mr.Kent, Mr.Dale, Coach Billy Joe, and Mrs. Coomer for taking care of the scorers table and gate. Thank you Ms.Shannon for keeping our facilities clean. Without you all, game days would not possibly. It takes a village, and we have a great one!

7th grade finished the season undefeated and played very well together. This group won the 7th grade Pocahontas Tournament and shows tons of potential!

Jr.High finished the season tied for 5th in conference play and had two All-Conference players that are 8th graders. This group is exciting, plays hard and will bring back several experienced players.

Sr.High fought hard every game and never gave up. This group showed resilience, gave it their all and got better as a whole. To our Seniors; Ryan, Cason, and Gavin. Thank you for everything you have given to this program and for leading. You will be missed.

Go Mohawks❤️🖤🏀
