Here is the video release from the first fish we caught at 7:02am Saturday. A solid 29" spawned out female. In this Catch-Photo-Release tournament we must submit a video of our clean release of any fish we score. It's a great way to get those big females back to recover after spawning as quick as possible. Usually within 2 minutes to unhook, measure & release each fish.

🎣 TOURNAMENT RECAP | Duck Creek Walleye Series — 3rd Place 🏆
Sponsored by Johnson Pump | Hosted at D2 Hobart

First cast. 7:02 AM. 29 incher

Spotted a good one immediately after submitting our live well video on livescope & before the bait even hit bottom — she ate. That's how you start a tournament day.

From there, we put our heads down and grinded. One fish at a time, picking apart the water until we filled our card around 11 AM. Then the real hunt began — searching for another kicker. Cast after cast in 2-5 feet of stained water after the recent rain, hunting shallow fish - head first into sustained 20 mph winds with gusts into the 30s. Lost a few nice ones - that stung, but that's walleye fishing.

The new Garmin Kraken was flirting with top speed all day long — never lost a beat and ended the day with 50% left on our Norsk Lithium batteries that didn't flinch in those conditions. The Yar-craft cut the waves all day for the ultimate boat control.

Shoutout to Johnson Pump for sponsoring the event and D2 Hobart for hosting the Duck Creek Walleye Series — great event, great people.

Had some fun on 'The Bay' this weekend with Noti-Fish Technologies tip-up alarm!

Last Friday Noti-Fish got an order from a long-time friend; "Nemo" is the name we will always know him by. He took his Dingers straight up to the vast waters of Green Bay and it didn't take long to collect this beefy 23" walleye on a Beaver Dam tip-up using Noti-Fish! Nice Work!!

🎣 NTC 2024 Recap – 1oz Short but 10 Days Full of Memories

Over the past two weeks, we had the incredible opportunity to fish the Cabela’s & Bass Pro Shops National Team Championship on Lake Francis Case/Missouri River in Pickstown, SD — a trip earned through our 2024 season in the Duck Creek Walleye Series on Green Bay.

We grinded for 10 days, battled wind, rain, and changing patterns — and got to fish against the best walleye anglers in the country. From 27" Missouri River monsters suspended to jigging shad plastics in flooded timber, it was a learning curve we leaned into hard.

Day 1, we came in just under 13 lbs, letting a few good fish go in search of the right 'over'... and Day 2 we nearly cracked our goal, weighing 13.75 lbs. But in true tournament fashion, we missed the Top 25 cut by just 1 ounce.

We had some serious highs: Green Bay fish fries with new friends, big fish early on Day 2, and locals in Pickstown who welcomed us like neighbors. And we had setbacks too — including our trolling motor failing with 2 hours left on Day 2, forcing a last-ditch audible to try for upgrades.

No regrets — just gratitude. Thanks to our families for holding it down back home, Duck Creek Walleye for the shot to be here, and to every person we met along the way who made this trip one to remember. We’ll be back. - Like a rock from a slingshot, straight to the target.

Thank you ,sponsors & volunteers for last weekends Event #3, wrapping up the regular season for this local series.

We came into the final event leading in team of the year points, thanks to our fortunate 2nd and 3rd place finishes in the prior tournaments.

Earlier in the year, we focused on fishing structure with hair jigs, consistently landing bites with a large average size around 26"-27". This success placed us in the top 3 in the previous tournaments.

As summer went on, life got busy, and we didn’t spend much time pre-fishing for event #3. On Thursday before the tournament, we took off work and headed north for a day of practice. Shortly after launching, our motor alarm sounded, forcing us to return to port. After a trip to the hardware store and some DIY repairs, we were back on the water by 3 PM for a few hours of finding graphing schools of fish with a solid size.

On Friday, we practiced away from our Thursday port, hoping the fish stayed put for the tournament. Launching 20 miles from our previous spot, we sought a different pattern but ended up reverting back to Thursday’s pattern, expanding our spots and confirming decent size fish.

Tournament day on Saturday, we had a plan with 5 locations holding decent fish. Starting at spot A, we immediately noticed different fish on our electronics. With no fish until 11:30 and on spot E, we finally hooked a beautiful 24.5" walleye. Not the size we hoped for, but a start. After cycling through 20 rods and various lures, we moved half a mile and sniped two more walleye, 24" and 22". Confident, we aimed for a full five fish limit. By 1:30 PM, we landed another fish and finally secured our fifth fish with 15 minutes to spare, at 2:45, another 24" walleye.

Knowing we needed a full card of 5 fish to even stay in contention for top 25 Team of the Year Race, we were thrilled to secure 2nd place Team of The Year for the Duck Creek Series on Green Bay with our sub-par 35th finish.

To top it off, we fished on Sunday after the tournament for redemption, striking a homerun with two fish over 28.5" and five over 27" from 2-5 PM. Green Bay is truly an amazing and challenging fishery.

We were fortunate enough to place 2nd in the second Green Bay Tournament.

We had 2 really good days of pre-fish Thursday & Friday before the tournament. After side imaging and looking at water tempatures for a few-dozen miles, we found various schools of fish. Some were active and some were not.

Finally, we located a few schools of larger 26-29" fish and they were steadily active on multiple occasions as we dialed in technique and presentation while covering more water.

We found a Plan B and Plan C spot in pre-fish, all with similar techniques and come tournament day, they paid off.

On tournament day we had a full 5 fish card by 9:30 am from Spot A. We had decent fish with the smallest being a 24" from there we worked towards 'upgrading'.

Every fish was caught on a home/custom tied hair jig by Jake, and a few color patterns have been the ticket to the last 2 tournament successes.

We finished the day pulling fish from each of the 3 spots we found in pre-fish, ending the day with 38.14lbs for 5 fish.

Currently we stand in first for Team of the Year for the Series and look forward to the 3rd event of the series in August!

Thankful to have put together a solid game plan for the kickoff to the 2024 Duck Creek Walleye Series yesterday. We were able to pull 39.5 lbs of walleye for a 3rd place finish. Our 28.75" fish was big enough to take second in the big fish pot and we took first place in the contingency winnings. Finally we secured a spot at the largest tournament in walleye fishing, the Cabelas National Team Championship!
