The Varsity Boys XC team showed up strong at the Upper State Meet in Newberry on Friday, earning a 5th place finish and punching their ticket to the State Championship in Aiken this Friday! Proud of this group’s hard work and determination all season. We aren’t done yet! 🔥🏆

SHS Track and Field has always been known to put on great track meets and bring great competition to our facility. Our next step in moving forward is we'd love to be able to host a meet where visiting coaches don't have to work any field events.

THAT'S WHERE YOU COME IN!

We're looking for former athletes who are over 21 who would be willing to volunteer to officiate field events along with our coaches so visiting coaches can come and coach their teams. This will make them more likely to come to us, and bring money into our program and the overall athletic program!

Here's what we need: we're looking for between 8 to 10 people who would be willing to commit to coming to all home meets- we usually have 4-6 meets on weekdays, and 2-3 meets on Saturdays. Our final schedule will be complete by the end of November. Weekday meet days will vary as the season goes on.
If you would like to do this, we will buy you a SHS Track and Field Polo to wear on meet days, and we'll teach you everything you need to know about officiating! You don't have to have participated in the events to officiate them!

We need officials for the following events:
Horizontal Jumps- 3-4 people (long and triple jump)
Throws- 5-7 people (shot put, discus and javelin)

If you are interested in doing something to help the program but can't commit to this many dates, let me know and we can get you plugged in with our parent organizational group that are always looking for volunteers for concessions and other support areas for our program. Thanks!

‼️Region Meet Recap‼️

Our Cross Country teams competed Regionals yesterday at Pickens High School!

Team Finishes:
Boys – 4th
Girls – 5th

All-Region Runners:
Thomas Donovan – 7th place (16:21.58)
Daegan Morris – 10th place (16:29.16)

These times place Thomas 3rd all-time and Daegan 5th all-time in Seneca XC history.

So many personal and seasonal best as well! Proud of ALL our athletes for their hard work and determination this season. 👏🏼🔥

Great job to our boys team at the Coaches Classic in Newberry! Top 10 finish in a competitive field with strong efforts and a few PRs on a challenging course. 💥 We’re ready to carry that momentum into the County Championship at West Oak this Wednesday — boys race at 5:30pm, girls at 6:00pm! Come out and support!

🏃‍♂️🐾 Our Seneca XC Bobcats showed up big today! After a long and exciting 12 hours, our fundraiser relay is officially complete. The athletes took turns running mile after mile and finished with an incredible 271.5 total miles! 💪 We are beyond proud of their effort and determination.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out, donated, and supported our team—you made this possible! ❤️

📍 Next stop: Pre-Region! Our athletes will compete at Pickens High School this Tuesday (8/26) in their first meet of the season. We’d love to see you there cheering them on!

Anyone who has run for us in the past or people connected to the program- we are kicking off our fundraiser for Spring 2025! We'd love to have you support our team! If you click on the link, you can donate to our team- we have several items we'd like to purchase for our program including throwing implements, pole vaulting poles, hurdles, and other training equipment as well as end of the year awards for athletes. Any help would be appreciated!

Our fundraiser is a competition between 7 teams in our program- each denoted by a color. If you don't have an athlete that you want to donate for- feel free to designate a team color- Blue, Gold, Green, Red, Purple, Orange and White. I hope you'll consider supporting our program! Thanks!

The SHS Track and Field Family was saddened to learn of the passing of Coach Jimmy Towe this morning. Coach Towe coached the sprinters for us from 2009-2017 in addition to his duties as the head Girls Basketball Coach. He was truly one of the best to ever do it- if you played for him or coached with him you were family. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends as well as the thousands of former athletes from Calhoun Falls to Greenwood to Seneca to Woodmont in which he invested his whole self into their growth over 42 years. We love you Coach
