Marriage can feel like an island sometimes.

Not because anything is wrong. Just because life gets full. Calendars fill up. Date nights get pushed. Community stays on the "someday" list.

We get it. We've lived it.

This summer, we're creating some space.

Summer Marriage Hangouts is a simple series of three gatherings for married couples — food, fun, and real connection. No curriculum. No pressure. Just good people around a backyard table, at a bowling lane, or on a farm.

Three events. June, July, and August.
Open to couples of all ages, stages, and backgrounds.

Come as you are. Bring your person.

Was so happy to see this little chick in the barn!

Our chicks are hatched by the free-ranging bunch of hens, but we always catch them with their momma hen (a very daunting chase each time!) and put them in the barn coop stalls to keep them safe for a few weeks. Well, something tunneled through those stalls and this was the only baby left of the youngest ones yesterday morning. Very sad. We tried to put it in with the next oldest batch of chickens but they bullied it all morning; chickens can be terrible that way. So, our choice was let it free in the barn and give it a fighting chance. I was definitely worried when I saw a pile of grey feathers by the house yesterday.

But this morning the little one had found its momma and was safe and sound. I hope that continues and it grows to be a big healthy chicken!

For Mother's Day everyone made a salad for lunch and we guessed who had prepared each one. My contribution was made from our garden- dandelion leaves, pea shoots, marjoram, mint, sage, and strawberries. It was a very fun and yummy activity, and the kids definitely knew which one I had prepared!
