Today we are highlighting the hip flexors! It is important to stretch and strengthen. Here are some exercises to try!

Tight/weak hip flexors can cause back and knee pain, a restricted gait when walking or running, limited hip extension when jumping, poor posture and poor pelvic stability.

Let’s be honest, eggs are expensive! They’re one of the best sources of protein, but are only about 7 grams per large egg.

You want to try to eat between 30-40 grams (minimum) of protein per meal if you’re eating 3-4 times a day…do the math. It would take 5 eggs for 35 grams of protein…that’s almost half the carton!

Try adding a serving size of cottage cheese (1/2 cup) to 3 eggs. It takes a little longer to cook, but it makes your eggs delicious, doesn’t add a lot of fat and boosts your protein by 13 grams!

Benefits Of TKEs

-Strengthens Quadriceps: TKEs are particularly effective for targeting the quadriceps, especially the VMO, which is crucial for knee stability and proper patellar tracking.

-Improves Knee Stability: By strengthening the muscles surrounding the knee joint, TKEs enhance stability and control, which helps prevent injuries and improves function during daily activities.

-Rehabilitates Knee Injuries: This exercise is often recommended by physical therapists for recovering from knee injuries, such as ACL tears, meniscus tears, or conditions like runner’s knee (patellofemoral pain syndrome) and tendinitis.

-Alleviates Knee Pain: TKEs can reduce knee pain by strengthening the quads, providing support, and reducing stress on the joint.

If you tell yourself you can’t, you won’t. What you tell yourself becomes your reality. There are studies that show the difference between good and great athletes is self talk. It affects how you show up to practice and how you perform.

Consistent and intentional action makes up the big picture or goal…what daily, weekly or monthly goals are you hitting to get there? When you break it down into little consistent actions, the big goal just kinda happens.

There will be days and weeks where you don’t want to stay focused and consistent, but I promise, if you do, you will never regret it!

Here’s a little peak at what my mornings look like… for my morning routine! It sets the tone for my day.

I wake up and get ready. I avoid social media. I drink 24oz of water. I run the dog 1.5 miles. I make coffee. I do 5 min of breath work. I journal affirmations, everything I am grateful for and my intentions for the day. It makes me feel more emotionally and mentally stable, boosts my feel good hormones, and energizes me…it’s science!

Meet Jess! One of my first clients as a trainer. She came to me lost and confused about food and exercise….the under eater and cardio queen. Super common in female weight loss clients. Let’s hear what she has to say about her journey with me.

“I started training with Stacie back in 2019. I had a few trainers before her, but none who made such an impact on my life the way she did. I’ve always struggled with my weight, ever since I was a child. I would try all of these diets and exercise routines to lose the weight and then gain it back a few months later. When I started working with Stacie, I immediately saw results. She put me on a realistic plan when it came to exercise and what I was eating, and my body responded really well. She changed my entire mindset about working out. Before meeting her, I always felt like working out was a chore, but she would always remind me of how fortunate I am to be able to move my body and how working out should be something to enjoy. I think one of the greatest things Stacie has ever done for me is she has changed my mindset about the gym and also eating - two things I’ve struggled with all of my life. I’ve recently had two babies back to back, and it definitely took a toll on my body, but this time, while I’m working on losing the weight again, I have the mindset and the tools necessary to be successful with my weight-loss journey, and that’s all thanks to Stacie. She helped me to make the realistic lifestyle changes I needed. I also think what sets Stacie apart from other trainers is that she genuinely cares about her clients. To her we aren’t just another statistic or another number, we are “her people” and not only does she want to see us succeed, she wants to see us happy, as well. I think that’s what makes working with her so special. She truly is the best!”
