AZ Family Campout Program The AZ Family Campout Program is for families that have little or no experience camping. http://azstateparks.com/family/

We provide the equipment, help you learn confidence and safety outdoors, and create family memories that last a lifetime! Have you ever wanted to take your family camping but weren't sure where to start? The Arizona Family Campout Program is a unique program designed for families who have little or no experience camping. During an activity filled weekend, families will be introduced to new adventures, learning to camp at one of their favorite State Parks, inspiring them to continue to explore the great outdoors. Campers will learn how to set up a tent, build a fire and be introduced to outdoor cooking while enjoying a variety of activities like fishing and archery! Additional activities will include: hiking, geocaching, animal demonstrations, campfire stories, birding, and more. Families will also have the opportunity to work on a service project (activities vary by Park).

Roper Lake State Park - how great you were to us! ⛺️ Campers came away with new knowledge and experiences after learning a large variety a camping skills throughout the weekend. Exploring the campgrounds and hiking trails while finding hidden treasures, 🎣fishing the docks and shorelines to catch a few blue gill, 🚣‍♂️kayaking and paddle boarding against the wind and waves, and even a front row seat to the late night raccoons🦝. This group got out of their comfort zone by trying new experiences and proved to themselves that they can do hard things! 💪

What an incredible time at an incredible State Park! Cattail Cove State Park saw campers learning new camping skills, kayaking, geo-caching, making survival bracelets, and enjoying games in the shade. Park staff set us up with pretty awesome views from our tents and even took us for a private boat ride! -Such great memories

What a great campout at Rockin' River Ranch with Troop 318! Birthday celebrations, piñatas, incredible food, field games, geo-caching, survival bracelets, and river swimming filled our weekend. These girl scouts showed their skills by setting up tents with ease, navigating with map & GPS, and catching sparks to start a fire. They are well on their way to being skilled & confident outdoor adventurers!

What a weekend! Not only did we learn camping skills, but campers experienced a sunset at Homolovi State Park that local Rangers ranked in the top 5 of the last 10 years. We showed our artistic skills during pottery lead by the incredible Randall and Cheri. And explored the desert finding geo-caches/pottery shards/petroglyphs & a desert horned lizard. We finished off Saturday with a visit to the observatory to see stars close up! A special weekend at a special state park! We love to be at Homolovi!

It's a perfect time to schedule a family weekend away with the Arizona Family Campout Program. You will learn camping skills, participate in State Park specific activities, sleep under the stars, and even become a Jr. Ranger! No gear required! Family Campout at Lyman Lake State Park! Oh boy, the fish were hitting… Campers caught over 15 fish, a few so big they even snapped the lines. The exciting “fish filled” morning was followed by geocaching, kayaking, and our new inflatable StandUp Paddleboards! The wind challenged us at times, but campers came away with some fun experiences.
Special thanks to the awesome Lyman Lake Rangers for coming out to play!
