95 years is a long time to leave your mark on the world, and my grandma absolutely did that. She was a character in every sense of the word. She had the mouth of a sailor, didn’t take s**t from anyone, and always had a story to tell. She loved her crime shows, her romance novels, and you could almost always find her curled up with a book in her hands.

Every time we visited her in Ohio, Lisa would make raisin pie. I didn’t even know raisin pie was a thing before her, but my grandma loved it, so it became our tradition.

When I came out as trans to my grandma nearly a decade and a half ago, she told me she understood because she had seen a Lifetime movie about it. Now, call me a pessimist if you want, but to this day I’m still not entirely sure what movie she watched. 😆 But what mattered was that she didn’t question me for a second. She just accepted me, and I’ll always be grateful for that.

Saying goodbye is never easy, no matter how long someone lives, but she was ready. I’m grateful for the years, the memories, the stories, and the laughs. Rest easy, Grandma. ❤️

A few years ago, I had an abdominoplasty after years of losing weight, gaining it back, and repeating that cycle more times than I’d like to admit. I had loose skin and ultimately decided to have surgery because I wanted to feel more confident in my body. Simple as that.

As many of you know, I’ve had multiple surgeries over the years. Some were medically necessary and others were purely cosmetic. Honestly, I’m pro choice in every sense of the phrase when it comes to your own body and your own life. If someone wants weight loss surgery, go for it. If someone wants to use a GLP-1, awesome. If someone wants to hire a coach, track macros, go to therapy, lift weights, or take a completely different path toward feeling better physically and mentally, I support that too.

Years ago, I used to be one of those people who said things like “that’s the easy way out” or reduced everything to “just eat less and move more.” The truth is, weight loss and body image are so much more complicated than most people realize. Hormones matter. Mental health matters. Stress matters. Psychology matters. Shame and self worth matter. It’s never as simple as people want to make it sound.

A few years later, I’m still very happy with my decision. The scars have faded quite a bit, but they’re still there, and honestly, I’ve learned to appreciate them. They tell the story of where I’ve been, what I survived, and the work I’ve done physically and mentally to become who I am today.

If you’ve been considering doing something for yourself but you’re hesitant because of what other people might think, remember that those people are not living your life. They are not carrying your struggles, your insecurities, your pain, or your goals. At the end of the day, you deserve to feel comfortable and confident in your own body, whatever path gets you there.

Well, the good vibes worked. 😎

I officially landed the role I interviewed for this week within the Tony Robbins ecosystem. It’s a part-time coaching position and I’m genuinely excited because it gives me the opportunity to expand beyond fitness coaching into more business, strategy, implementation, and accountability-focused coaching as well.

I’ll admit, this one feels especially good because I really pushed myself outside my comfort zone for it. They interviewed over 20 applicants, selected only 3 people, and I was offered the position on the spot during my final interview. That was a really validating moment for me.

Nothing changes with my fitness coaching clients or my own businesses. Those are still a huge priority for me. This just feels like a really exciting opportunity to grow in a new direction while continuing to build everything else I’ve been working on behind the scenes.

Thanks for all the encouragement and good vibes this week. I genuinely appreciated it. ❤️

This is what maintenance looks like.

Six months. Multiple leg vein procedures. Two surgeries. And my weight has stayed right where it needs to be.

I used to think I always needed to be chasing something. Cut fat, build muscle, push harder. If I wasn’t actively in a phase with a goal, I felt like I was wasting time. It took me a while to understand that maintenance isn’t standing still. It’s holding the ground you already fought for while life does its thing.

If you’re dealing with stress, recovery, injury, major life changes, or you’re just mentally burnt out from tracking everything, maintenance is not a detour. It’s part of the process. Your body needs time at a stable baseline to recover, regulate, and set itself up for whatever comes next. The people who skip this step and keep pushing are the ones who end up burning out or losing progress they already made.

You don’t always have to be in a deficit or a surplus to be moving toward your goals. Sometimes the smartest thing you can do is hold steady, take care of yourself, and come back to the next phase when you’re actually ready for it.

What is YOUR current phase or focus? I am shifting into a recomp.

Two weeks post-op. Still got my four little baby abs.

I put this surgery off longer than I should have, waiting for the “right time” when taking a couple weeks off from the gym wouldn’t feel like a setback. That time doesn’t exist. Eventually I just booked it.

Here’s what I want y’all to hear, especially if you’re ever in a recovery window for any reason. I didn’t run a calorie deficit while I was healing. I never recommend that to my clients either. When your body is rebuilding tissue, it needs more resources, not fewer. Protein to repair. Calories to fuel the process. Sleep to let it integrate.

Two weeks of rest doesn’t undo years of consistency. Perfectionism, on the other hand, will take you out faster than any surgery.

Fuel yourself through the healing.

Back here for the gourmet VA hospital food. Third surgery within 1.5 years but knocking them out before we exit the country. Nothing serious so don’t worry, just something I’ve put off.

I used to feel like I would lose all my progress with some post-op downtime, but that’s just not the case. Recovery is not the time to restrict food or worry about missing workouts. Follow your surgeon’s orders, heal, and get right back to it when you’re able to ease back in.

There’s no race to the finish line. And truth be told, there IS NO FINISH LINE. There’s only living your life and making mostly good decisions day after day. ❤️

Today and every day. Happy Trans Visibility Day.

You deserve to take up space in the gym, in the world, and in your own body. That is not conditional on how far along you are, what you look like, or whether you have it all figured out.

If you are working on your fitness and want numbers that actually account for your body, the free trans macro calculator is in my bio.

Took a full week off after getting some vein work done (glue + sclerotherapy… yes, I’m officially in my maintenance era 😂).

Back at it today and feeling good. Still rocking the compression for one more week, so I’m easing in.

All I’m asking for is a six pack by Pride…
like honestly, is that too much to ask?? 😅

Starting a mini cut.

I’m leaning out a bit more before heading into my next lean bulk, and there are a few intentional reasons behind this.

First, mentally. Dropping a little more fat now will make it much easier for me to push through a lean bulk without constantly worrying about fat gain.

Second, timing. I have a couple of upcoming surgeries later this year, which means planned breaks from lifting. It doesn’t make sense to commit to a longer lean bulk right now when I know there will be interruptions. I also don’t cut during recovery, and I don’t advise my clients to either. Maintenance, or even a slight surplus, is important for healing.

This is also the leanest I’ve ever started a cut, which feels like a good place to be. The goal here is simple and realistic: lose about 8 to 10 pounds of fat, then transition into a lean bulk from a better starting point.

I’ve had roughly 12 weeks away from cutting, sitting around maintenance, and I genuinely feel refreshed both physically and mentally. That reset matters more than people realize.

I also took a few weeks off my GLP 1 and just reintroduced it at a lower dose to kick things off. For me, it helps a lot with food noise and appetite during a cut, and honestly even during maintenance.

Here we go! 💪😊
