Alright fellow Martial Artists:
I recently asked a 4th Dan tkd about which part of the foot to spin on for a spinning back kick/spinning hook/ect: he said it doesn’t matter, and that it’s a matter of personal choice. Personally, I spin on the ball of my foot, but I’ve seen many people spin on the heel. For me the heel feels like it’s locking out the knee, so I don’t do it or teach it. What do you think?

At the end of every class, my kids and I meditate. Not only does it give them a chance to refocus before going back to their lives, but it teaches them that they can be in control of themselves. I like to say “if you can’t sit still for two minutes, you need to practice that.”
