Meet the Teacher!

Meet Terra Paddock! We are beyond excited and deeply grateful to welcome Terra to the Yoga’s Arc family! Terra brings so much heart, resilience, and compassion to her practice, with a deep dedication to helping others find healing, strength, and peace through life’s challenges. While she is taking a short moment to create harmony in her personal life before starting classes with YA, we are so honored to have her on our team and can’t wait for you to experience her powerful energy and gifts!

Here’s a little bit about Terra…

Terra began her own yoga practice in 2014, and then enrolled in a 200 YTT when she was suddenly faced with a traumatic life change in 2017.

Terra earned her BA in psychology from ASU in 1993. She then became a stay at home mom to her four children and exited the work force for many years. In 2016 she wrote a note on a small card and posted it in her closet as part of a vision board, “I will become a certified yoga teacher and have an opportunity to teach.” In 2018 Terra began teaching yoga at a local gym. After 8 years, she felt the pull to make a shift. As the mom of an adult child deeply affected by addiction, Terra wanted to have the opportunity to bring yoga to people within her community battling mental illness and addiction. Terra is a huge proponent of self care and doing your own hard work in order to be in the best place to help others. She has a strong sense of dedication to her students and strives to help others work through their own trauma in healthy and positive ways.

Terra and her husband Ernest have a blended family of 7 children ages 11 to adult, and two young grandsons. Terra is an avid hiker and hopes to complete her second rim to rim hike of the Grand Canyon this October. Terra is excited and grateful to have the opportunity to work with Yoga’s Arc!

Happy Sunday Vibes!

When the road ahead looks beautiful, don't get caught up in dreaming of the destination. Remember to enjoy the step you are taking. Bhante Sujatha

“When the road ahead looks beautiful, don't get caught up in dreaming of the destination. Remember to enjoy the step you are taking.” — Bhante Sujatha

We’ve all been there. You look at the calendar and think, "Only 37 more days until vacation." Then it’s, "I can’t wait for tomorrow so I can finally [insert exciting event here]."

I do it, too! And don't get me wrong—having a future to be excited about is a gift. Looking forward to the wonders of an upcoming adventure is part of the joy of being alive.

But when we live entirely in the "destination," we start to treat the present moment like a hurdle we have to jump over just to get to the "good stuff."

What about right now? What about the "step" you are taking today?
There is so much beauty in the mundane when we stop rushing past it.
Living in the present means being truly grateful for the ability to do our daily jobs, the health that allows us to move, and even the ability to look at our past as a teacher rather than a tether.

When we are attached to the past or obsessed with the future, we miss the actual life we are living.

If you are one of those people who find it hard to be present—if you feel "hooked" on worrying about what happened yesterday or what might happen next month—you aren't alone. That "monkey mind" is exactly why we practice.

If you haven't stepped onto your mat lately or tried a form of meditation, I highly recommend giving it a shot. It’s not about clearing your mind; it’s about learning to enjoy the step you are currently taking, even if that step is just a single, quiet breath.

We are here for you. If you need help finding your way to the mat or don't know where to start with meditation, reach out. We would love to support you in finding the beauty in your "now."

Enjoy the journey this week,

Meet the Behind the Scenes Team of Yoga’s Arc!

Meet Robert Sinkule! Robert is the CFO and HR of Yoga’s Arc, who fell into these roles to help his wife Kary create the company from the bottom up. He has been such an important part of the foundation and growth of this company while keeping up with his full-time job at Intel and dedicated work to the Chandler Chamber.

Here is a little bit about Robert...

Robert's yoga journey began in 2002, with his introduction to yoga at a local gym in Chandler, Arizona. It was at this gym where he would meet his future wife Kary, who was a yoga instructor at the time, and where he would become a group fitness/cycle/boot camp instructor.

Over the past few decades, he viewed yoga as an outlet for exercise and fitness. In 2022, going back to his fitness instructor days, Robert decided to get his instructor certificate and completed his 200-hour yoga teacher training with Yoga's Arc.

During his certification, Robert began a deeper look at his yoga journey, and started looking at yoga more for its healing and restorative aspects vs. just an outlet for exercise. He has since then completed his 300-hour training with Yoga's Arc as well!

Happy Sunday Vibes!

"The greatest glory in living lies not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall." — Nelson Mandela

I spent years in traditional education, all the way through my Master’s Degree. Back then, it was all about the grades. Your GPA was your identity. No one ever talked about the importance of feeling or the necessity of falling.

Then, I became a teacher. Suddenly, every day felt like one big failure that no one had warned me about. Even my counseling degree didn't fully prepare me for the raw human experience of the "real world" as a school counselor!

It wasn't until I stepped into the world of entrepreneurship and leadership that I learned the "Secret of Life": Failure is our biggest gift. In business, if you can’t accept failure and learn from it, you’re sunk. To truly grow, we have to humble ourselves and get our egos out of the way. It’s easy to put our heads in the sand—that’s the "easy way out." The harder (and better) way is the path of self-reflection and growth.

This is why we get on our mats. Yoga is the ultimate laboratory for failure.

You wobble in a balance pose? How fascinating.

You can’t reach your toes today? How fascinating.

When we practice yoga, we are training ourselves to stay present with the struggle instead of running from it. We are learning that an "F" today is just the fertilizer for the "A" we are becoming tomorrow.

How are you using your "falls" to fuel your rise?

Blessings,

Kary Sinkule Founder, Yoga’s Arc

Strike A Pose: Extended Side Angle (Utthita Parsvakonasana)
Yoga isn’t about fitting into a rigid shape—it’s about discovering how each posture uniquely honors your individual body.

Finding the Pose in Your Body:

Uniquely Yours: There is no single "picture-perfect" version of Utthita Parsvakonasana. Notice how depth, reach, and angles naturally look different for everyone depending on unique anatomy, strength, and flexibility.

Mindful Awareness: Honoring where your body is today builds self-trust, mental clarity, and an authentic connection to your practice.

We Are Here for Your Journey:
Whether you are stepping onto the mat for the very first time, exploring personal alignment, or ready to lead others, Yoga’s Arc offers an inclusive, supportive space for every body.
