Looking for a great way to keep your player learning, moving, and having fun this summer? The UVic Vikes Softball Summer Camp runs August 17–21 and is now open for registration!

This camp is coached by current and former Vikes women’s softball players and gives athletes the chance to build their skills in a fun, challenging, and supportive environment.

Campers will work on age-appropriate skills and drills, including:

βœ… Throwing
βœ… Fielding
βœ… Hitting
βœ… Base running
βœ… Game strategy
βœ… Learning multiple positions
βœ… Proper footwork, mechanics, and softball-specific techniques

Full-day and half-day options are available, with before and after camp care offered through UVic Vikes registration.

Players will need to bring their own glove and batting helmet with cage.

Tell your friends and teammates β€” this is a great opportunity to keep growing your game this summer!

Our U13B Lampard team headed to Richmond this past weekend for their very first off-island tournament together β€” and what a weekend it was!

The girls battled hard all tournament long and earned their spot in the championship game after a huge 2–0 semi-final win over a very strong Vancouver Wildcats team. With outstanding pitching, solid defence, and true team grit, they showed exactly what Central Saanich Extreme is all about πŸ‘Š

In the final, they faced a tough host Richmond team and came up just short of gold β€” but they are bringing home a well-earned silver medal! πŸ₯ˆ

Well done, ladies! Way to represent Central Saanich Extreme!

Officially past the halfway point of their Softball season, and what a journey it has already been!

As the only U17A team on Vancouver Island, these athletes don’t have a typical season. Their competition is almost entirely on the mainland, which means early departures from school and work, ferry rides, hotels, long travel days, and weekends spent away from home β€” all in pursuit of bigger goals πŸŽ‰

In just six weeks, this team has travelled to five away tournaments, while also making time for a team bonding trip to Hornby Island. That kind of commitment says a lot β€” not just about their talent, but about their dedication, resilience, and love for the game.

This group exemplifies what it means to show up for each other, push through the busy schedule, and keep building toward something bigger. Their season is far from over, with practices, exhibition games, a local tournament, and another major trip ahead β€” all part of the path toward their goal of making it to Nationals πŸ‘

To our U17A players, coaches, and families: we see the time, effort, sacrifice, and heart that goes into this season. You are setting an incredible example for our younger players in our association and showing them what is possible when hard work, teamwork and belief come together.
