I’ve been training at since December with Adam Ideson, and I’m proud to say that today I got my first stripe.

Originally, I decided to take up jiujitsu to feel safer. I didn’t expect it to be as fun as it is. I also didn’t know that there were so many life lessons to be learned from the practice.

I’m still learning to allow myself the space to be a beginner, to have faith that I can get through any situation, and that the big guy doesn’t always win.

Really grateful that my friend Simon ( ) told me about this outstanding place.

I was a little nervous to walk in the first time, but now I feel right at home.
