His courage had already been demonstrated during the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, when he helped save a pregnant woman by carrying her down from the 103rd floor to safety. His bravery and compassion left a lasting impression on those who knew his story. To his wife, Lynn, and their children, he was much more than a successful professional—he was a beloved husband and a father whose presence meant everything.

Today, we remember Seth not only for the tragic circumstances of his death, but also for the courage, kindness, and love that defined his life. His remarkable actions in 1993 and his devotion to his family remain an enduring part of his legacy. Though September 11 took him far too soon, his memory continues through his loved ones and the people inspired by his bravery.

Stuart Todd Meltzer was a loving husband, devoted father, cherished son, and beloved brother whose life was tragically taken on September 11, 2001. At 32, he worked at Cantor Fitzgerald in the World Trade Center. Stuart was passionate about sports, especially baseball and football, and treasured cheering for his favorite teams with his brother. But above all, his greatest joy was his family. After the birth of his eldest son, Jacob, Stuart made spending time with his children his highest priority. He also welcomed his younger son, Dylan, just months before the tragedy. Stuart's family remembered him as a remarkable person who touched many lives through his love, dedication, and warmth.

Today, we remember Stuart not only for the tragedy that ended his life, but for the husband, father, son, and brother he was. His life and the memories he created remain precious to those who loved him. Though his children grew up without their father's presence, his memory lives on through his family and everyone who remembers his story.

Amy R. King was a 29-year-old United Airlines flight attendant aboard United Airlines Flight 175 on September 11, 2001. She and her boyfriend, fellow flight attendant Michael Tarrou, were working the same flight when it was hijacked and crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center. They had been together for more than two years and had recently begun living together in Stafford Springs, Connecticut. They often tried to arrange their schedules so they could spend more time together, and they were looking forward to a Chicago layover and dinner with Amy’s family beginning September 12.

Amy grew up near Jamestown, New York, as the youngest of three sisters. In high school, she ran track and cross-country, enjoyed painting, and had an interest in clothing design. She began working for United Airlines in Chicago in 1993. Her story is also one of love, shared dreams, and a future that was tragically taken away. Amy and Michael’s lives and the love they shared remain part of the many personal stories remembered from September 11, 2001.

Today, on Amy’s heavenly birthday, we remember her life, her kindness, and the dreams she carried. We remember the love she shared with Michael and the family and friends who still miss them. Amy R. King will never be forgotten. May her memory continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who remembers her. 🕊️🖤💔

Robert J. Deraney, 43, was a financial consultant who graduated from Princeton University and the Wharton School. On September 11, 2001, he was attending a breakfast meeting at Windows on the World atop the North Tower of the World Trade Center when the terrorist attacks took his life. Robert was remembered by his family as a loving brother, a devoted family organizer, and a man who always went above and beyond for the people he loved. When his sister Michele was diagnosed with breast cancer, Robert helped her find medical specialists, accompanied her to treatments, and connected her family with support. He organized reunions for dozens of relatives, created family trivia games, and filled his home with warmth, music, and treasured traditions. His sister described him as “pretty much perfect,” a reflection of the extraordinary love and care he gave others.

Lauren worked in marketing and was writing a book intended to inspire women to pursue their dreams and believe in themselves. She loved babies and was overjoyed to be expecting her first child, carrying hopes for the beautiful future she would never get to experience.

Lauren’s story reminds us that behind every name lost on 9/11 was a person with a loving family, ambitions, and a future full of possibilities. May her memory continue to bring smiles, courage, and inspiration to everyone who learns about her life.
