I haven’t posted anything here for a while, because, like many of us, the idea of posting a picture of a pretty salad, a quote about , or my latest favorite wellness product seems absurd in the light of the news of the day. I’ve been feeling helpless and even guilty for participating “normally” in my day to day life. Like, how can I go out to dinner, complain about traffic, plan a vacation or do any normal life stuff when is a war going on? Terrified innocent people are being attacked, hiding with their families, living underground and in basements without food and water, fighting for their lives and their country - all at the whim of a power hungry maniac. My brain and my heart are struggling to take it all in. Watching it happening and wtcyhe same time wondering HOW it can be happening.
I thought about this a lot over the weekend - about the paradox of feeling overwhelmingly sad and disillusioned about what’s going on in the world and at the same time wanting to feel present and grateful and happy in my own life.
How do we hold BOTH truths at the same time?
I saw this quote from and it reminded me that life is always, always, always full of paradoxes. I can feel heartbroken, furious and concerned AND show up in my own life, coach my clients, share whatever small joys are sustaining me and be grateful for all that I have.
So, you may see some posts in the next few weeks about my latest writing project, my upcoming trip to in Mexico, some brilliant I’ve been using and daily life in . You’ll ALSO see me sharing resources on where and how to donate to Ukraine as well as how we can continue to support ourselves and each other through the myriad other ongoing issues that plague us in our rapidly changing world. Sending love to you all and especially to those who are suffering right now. 🇺🇦
