The 50th Annual Education Acheivement Awards Banquet was all good vibes and like a mini community reunion! It was a true pleasure to see some many folks in person again. I always enjoy hearing inception stories and seeing these valued and protected Ladies of my world that you see me here standing with.....get the sisterly love, character credit, communal acknowledged and recognition they deserve for being the women we need, and the commuity gems that they are. 💐💎 Well done to them, and Lotus Academy! Of course, a big shout out to Lotus Academy keep shining another 50th years and beyond.🏫📚

This past weekend in Newark, NJ I accepted an award that honored my Father and Coach and the work he started over 50 years ago! When he co-founded a trail blazing Afrikan Combat System in Philadelphia, PA in 1973. His work at the time was going against the common cultural and commercial grain of what a "martial artist person or system" can and could be. He carved a new path, and I'm so proud of his work and legacy and to be his son. At the event, I also enjoyed some networking, having meaningful conversations, and showing acknowledgment and support to the other awardees as well as Elders and Ancestors that recently transitioned. Congratulations to the other honorees and their community contributions.

The true aim here while working on the "agility ladder" 🪜is work on proprioception. Which is to increase awareness/perception (sensory) of the body its positioning in or during all movement. Did also know that hopscotch was actually started as a military training exercise. 🪖 While, I don't entirely dispute that I'm sure there have been many cultures that have had children who played by hopping or jumping on things, and this has naturally improved an area of theirs like ccordination over time.
