Come experience Philadelphia from a sailboat. Liberty Sailing Club is open to all sailors – from beginners to experts. Located on the Delaware River in Center City, Philadelphia, the club has a fleet of J/27s – sloop rigged sailboats designed for performance sailing. Some choose to race, some to cruise, and some to race and cruise. What you do and how often is up to you! The regular sailing season starts the third week in April and goes through mid-November. Racing Program
The racing program lets you sharpen your sailing skills, including flying a spinnaker. Wednesday and Thursday nights are reserved for racing, with (4) five–week series. The boats leave the dock between 5:30 p.m. Cruising Program
Tuesday and Friday nights are reserved for fun sails, with the boats leaving the dock around 5:30 p.m. On other nights and weekends, members – with a Liberty skipper on board – can take boats out. Weekend sailing occurs on Saturday and Sunday, with the boats leaving the dock at various times. The club also organizes weekend cruises on the Chesapeake Bay and an annual week long charter. Social Activities
Liberty members get together on and off the water throughout the year. Social activities include barbeques, Mid-Summer Night’s party, Crab Fest, Holiday Parties, Member's party, and more.
