Team schedule and roster for the Fall 2014 campaign: http://phillysoccer.org/leagues/38315/teams/16896 LOOSE!

Loose Cannons football club was founded in the Spring of 2009, with their inaugural season taking place at Northeast Racquet Club. After walking away with the title, the founding members realized they had something special on their hands and decided to join Casa Soccer League, Philadelphia's largest amateur soccer league. Entering their eleventh season of Casa play, the Cannons field a boisterous

team, sure to provide an entertaining mix of goals and cards. The team won the Abierto league title (11-0-0) in the Fall of 2010, and culminated an epic Tercera playoff run in the Spring of 2014 to launch their way into Segunda, Casa's second tier. With the Fall 2014 fixtures about to begin, the lads have only one thing on their agenda: adding another star above that crest!

THERE’S A BABY ON BOARD

Co-parents and (6.9%abv) - the slide tackling wizard - stepped up big time for the purple cannons last weekend, locking down the center back positions with Devero and Steve out. They shut down all nonsense from the vidas forwards, playing both physically and tactically sound all game.

The first half got off to a slow start with vidas maintaining the majority of possession, partially due to their lack of subs, which came back to bite them in the 2nd half. As opposing legs got heavy, the cannons struck with tucking a left footer past their keeper for the only goal of the match.

maintained a clean sheet for the 2nd straight game, as the defense is starting to get toooiiight and the big fella is settling back into his form.

Big shoutout to mrs. Hayman and baby Hayman for making the trek and allowing zaaaddyyy to play.

It was a pretty clean and well officiated game, with no major misfires. The post game sucks were plentiful as a few of the guys started loading up for broad street the next morning.

The crew has to cross the g damn river like George Washington tomorrow morning to face Statesmen as we look for our 3rd straight win. Stay tuned and stay

Munch you say? If you’re offering, we’re all down.

It was a full squad performance last weekend with the cannons comfortably taking care of business vs Bobby munch on quaint north Philly’s gopher hole stadium.

Once again we saw the magic of the goal combo, both working their asses off and earning those tallies. We saw a clean sheet and another stellar performance by the big guy who had mucho help from the rotating back line of (Tom) and .

The munchers had a few cunning players but the cannons collectively were too much to handle, spreading the field and maintaining possession on the fast carpet. The midfield was anchored by and . Gutshall did his normal thing and ran 25 miles, looking great the whole time.

In typical cannons fashion, we sucked long and hard post game 🍻, recruiting some locals to join the loyal following.

Misfires:
One of the refs clearly sprinkled a little something special in his oatmeal that morning… carding our captain for following instructions and calling offsides on a negative ball. Can’t win em all I guess

My M.O.M. Could beat up your Mom. Those words were probably said last weekend when the cannons pulled out a close one vs FC Burlington in a feisty match. Also, peep the new kits 👀

It was a beautiful morning and the birds were chirping, then the loose lips of both teams (and the refs) followed suit. FCB eventually got on the board from a through ball which proved to be their primary strength as they had youth, speed and a couple thousand fewer nattys under their belt. The cannons looked strong however maintaining a larger portion of possession and the thiccccer bench. That proved to be valuable as newcomer “grampy Drew“ tucked home a rebound to knot things going into half.

As FCB lost their stamina, momentum shifted to the loose boiiis and tempers flared - largely due to refs who informed the teams “we aren’t enforcing rules”. Bad tidbit of knowledge to drop on our squad. Multiple scuffles, cards and a “billygoat” appearance later, tucked home the game winner with under 10 mins to play.
We were all more than thrilled to hear the final whistle after a stoppage time free kick just outside of the penalty box.

Suckdown ensued as the fellas soaked in the W, bringing the record to 1-1 for the season.

Misfires:
1. the refs. ‘Nuff said
2. The cork soaker who drilled a ball into our man of the match ‘s face after a whistle
3. A missed PK (you owe us big fella)
4. A sky’d 1v1 with the most legendary keeper of all time (you also owe us one big boy)

We’re back at it tomorrow morning vs Bobby munch or something. Catch ya mañana ✌🏼

Another ACL tear and surgery for Cannons midfielder Thad Konicki 5 years later vs the same team (hopefully this one holds!) ends the 12 year Loose Cannons soccer career for the last remaining OG Cannon. The former captain is the club’s all-time leader in games played and...torn acl’s. Speedy recovery, Thad! Time to get Loose on the country club sports instead!

We have THREE MOMs ! But not that type... don’t get too excited.

Here are your week 1 men of the match, who powered the cannons to a 3-1 comeback W over the bluestars. The squad struggled to put the whole thing together in the first half, going down 1-0 after a missed call by the green guy on the sideline who put the whistle in his mouth but apparently just wanted to suck on it and not blow. Sad.

No worries, Eric took matters into his own hands early in the 2nd half with a curveball cross which pretzeled the goalie and found the side netting to spark the comeback. “The wind took it”. found his form and absolutely undressed the defense and goalie with a filthy fake and calm tuck to put the cannons up a goal. Tony let it all hang out with a 35 yard bomb over the keeper’s head which sealed the deal.

The squad looked solid in the 2nd half, with the chemistry returning to last season’s level. A couple of newcomers were initiated with our standard post-game and reports are coming in with a lot of soreness but high spirits aside from an awful showing. Rumors are swirling about a signing... TBD

did you miss us? Sorry we had to take a little break and do some soul searching.

The loose boooiis are back in business after taking down the division leader SMK in a chilly but fiery 4-1 game. The squad looked real good all around, anchored by the big fella between the sticks, chasing down opposing strikers and finally exorcising his scoring demons and notching 2 on the ol’ belt along with .fone and #6 aka “the honey badger” who got things going real early with a hard earned finish which set the tone for the rest of the match. had a hell of a game in the center of the park, setting up quite a few opportunities and one crucial goal.

was so excited about the W that he couldn’t control a surprise nose bleed but still participated in post- game rehab ( ) .
Catch us next week in the first round of the playoffs against the geek squad. In the meantime, stay warm but more importantly stay MF @ Northeast High School

Week 7 update.
We have some good news and some bad news...
Bad news is that we took an L yesterday against a tough SMK squad. 3-1 (goal scored by ) . Quite a few misfires including a (Cannons style) “f*ck off” to the ref from a SMK player. We applauded his tenacity but told him to leave that nonsense to the pros.

Good news: it’s our only loss of the season and we are still playoff bound. We had a bit of a rough outing all around but still had a few chances and realistically should have come away with a result, but we’ll get another shot in 2 weeks.

We kept it all natural during the post-game to aid with recovery. Glorious nectar from always comes through when we need it most ( )

Thank you all for your support and ‘til next time... stay

Another one in the books as fall 2010 footgolf was quite a day. Charitable? Yes. Fun? Sí. Memorable? Oui. Too hot to handle? For some...

This was one of many squads who rolled through juniata today. There were plenty of laughs, bovine, thunder buddy and gargoyle sightings, party shirts galore, more beer than necessary and maybe some indecent exposure claims from a septa bus driver or 2.
At the end of the day, quite a success, and we hope to get more numbers out in the spring.

Some of the boys kept the party going at garage, where MVP Kyle McH officially cemented himself into cannons hall of fame. That’s all we can say at this point, but know it was a stellar performance from #14 today.

At the time of this post, all participants are reportedly safe and sound, tucked into bed or fused to their couch with an empty under their pillow, hoping for a visit from the fairy who supposedly brings playoff guarantees in exchange. Only time will tell, so stay tuned and stay (but not quite as loose as Kyle).
P.S. - Shoutout to Steve for the timely recovery of today’s Allstar. Well done @ Juniata Golf Course
