Sandra Hedenberg Jay Shetty Certified Empowerment Coach- Storyteller-Writer-World Traveler

Sandy Hedenberg, a Jay Shetty Certified Empowerment Coach has wanted to make a difference in the lives of others for as long as she can remember. Her life long, appreciable love of storytelling, coupled with her unwavering desire to help others has recently led Sandy to the journey of a lifetime, both professionally and personally. Last year, she made the somewhat audacious decision to sell her ho

me, travel abroad on a life- changing solo journey through Italy and make the transition from a longtime successful career in the real estate industry to her latest entrepreneurial endeavor as an empowerment coach, consultant, blogger and speaker. As a successful Realtor for over two decades, her focus was always on helping people to achieve their goals and dreams through real estate purchases and sales. After working with thousands of buyers and sellers as a Realtor; she chose to accept a prominent leadership role in the real estate industry. It was during this time that Sandy realized her passion for coaching, as well as truly illuminated her desire to be of service to others in a new, even more meaningful way. As someone who has had her own struggles with personal empowerment, she decided to make it her life’s work to lean into her greatest strengths (and love of storytelling) and use them to serve her clients to help empower them in ways that they most need.

“I believe that our personal story is a driving force throughout our life, in every area of our life including love, career, interpersonal relationships, money and health. I discovered the power of our story during my own personal development journey, as well as while working one on one with my agents as a sales leader. I find it incredibly gratifying to help others identify their own stories, extract the value and meaning, and work together to create the most beneficial, most empowering perspective possible through our coaching partnership. In the spirit of grace and teaching that which I most needed to learn, I‘ve chosen to make the next chapter in my professional journey one in which I help empower others to reach their full potential through coaching and storytelling in new, creative ways.”

I’ve been missing my Dad so much lately. I’ve been thinking about so many of our conversations that we’ve had over the years, as well as so many conversations that we’ll never actually have the opportunity to actually have.💔

My Dad and I used to talk pretty much every day. When I worked with him at Parke Place Realty, us talking was just a “part of the job”. When I went out on my own in real estate (and left his company), us talking on the daily became a matter of choice. I truly enjoyed those conversations and it was during that time that we became “friends” as adults. ❤️

We would talk about real estate sometimes, but we also talked a lot about my dreams of becoming a motivational speaker and coach, as well as me finally finding the “perfect” life partner for me. 😂 He would often tell me at times when I most needed it, “Sandy, if someone else can do it, so can you. It’s just that simple. You just have to follow your heart and do what makes you most happy. ❤️

Once my Dad received his diagnosis of stage 4 pancreatic cancer his health declined very quickly. His treatment plan of chemotherapy and radiation made it increasingly difficult for him to be available for our daily chats. 💔

I remember at one point in time, I knew that my Dad wasn’t going to beat this horrible disease and that he wasn’t going to be with us much longer. In an attempt to mentally prepare myself for the fact that I wouldn’t always be able to speak with him; I made the decision to not call him so much, to try and prepare myself for the time that I couldn’t call him anymore. 💔

Over the last 7 years, there have been countless moments that I’ve wanted (and needed) to be able to call and share some good news with him or talk through a problem that I was trying to work through. And it is at those moments that my heart literally hurts. 💔😢🙏

This morning, I realized why I’ve been missing my Dad and our conversations so much more than usual. I really want to be able to tell him that I’m finally going after my dreams of becoming a motivational speaker and coach (as well as working diligently on my end at finding the “perfect” life partner for me😂🙏💕.)

This Tuesday, I’m going to speak to a large group of people about the power of believing in their dreams and themselves. I know in my heart that my Dad will be there with me in spirit, cheering me on from Heaven in a way that only he could, fiercely (and diligently) helping me to believe in me too. ❤️

It feels like just yesterday that I was walking outside the LAX airport with luggage in hand heading for the international departure gates to board my overnight flight to Bali.

I spend most of my early mornings in this very place in my apartment writing and contemplating my thoughts and feelings. I recognize that it’s not a luxury that most people have, and I’m very grateful that I do.
