Today we partnered up with B3 Fearless Foundation to host a co-ed Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Self Defense seminar. We talked about what to do when someone grabs your wrist, chokes you from the front with both arms, when someone chokes you from behind with one arm and how to react when someone grabs you by the waist from behind. These techniques are rooted in old school Gracie Jiu Jitsu and I learned them at SixBladesBJJPhiladelphia underneath Ray Huxen. In a world where Jiu Jitsu is becoming so far away from its combative roots I’m proud to keep the old school traditions going in our academy.

It’s a blessing to still get to be involved in my favorite thing. 🙏

There was a time when I taught BJJ to 1 or 2 students at a time. Starting a BJJ program from scratch is a hefty challenge but we’re growing more every day and we can’t wait to see how this investment plays out in a few years when these athletes make their debuts in the cage. 👹
