The Tarken Coalition for Concerned Neighbors is bringing the community together for a fun, family-friendly day at Tarken Recreation Center!

🍂 New Programs Starting at Tarken This Fall! 🍂

We have several programs coming up at Tarken!

⚽ Youth Soccer

* Grades K–5
* Starts Tuesday, September 15
* Practices Tuesdays & Thursdays, 6:00–7:00 PM
* $40
* Held on the Tarken fields

🤸 Beginner Tumbling

* Ages 5 & up
* Fridays starting in October
* 5:30–6:30 PM
* $25 per month + leotard fee

🧘‍♀️ Yoga

* Wednesdays starting in October
* 5:30–6:15 PM
* All ages (18+) and abilities welcome
* Optional chair support
* Mats provided or bring your own
* $20 per 6-week session

📚 After School Program

* Monday–Friday, 3:00–6:00 PM
* Pick-up available at Carnell Elementary
* Drop-off available
* Homework help, arts & crafts, sports, games, STEM activities, snacks & more
* $60 per month

🤸 Yoga, tumbling, and the after-school program will be held inside the Tarken recreation building.

A huge thank you to the Tarken Coalition for Concerned Neighbors for organizing a wonderful Back to School Giveaway & Public Safety Night and for bringing so many community partners together at Tarken Recreation Center!

The Coalition put a lot of time and effort into planning this event, connecting families with resources, providing school supplies, and creating a fun and welcoming evening for the neighborhood. We were happy to host and work alongside them to help make it happen.

We also want to thank all of the community partners and supporters who contributed to the evening, including Councilman Anthony Phillips, the 2nd District Police, the National Guard, WOAR Philadelphia Center, Greg Bucceroni with Public Safety, Gill Matthews from the Mayor’s Office, Semper FI Dawgs Youth Organization, and all of the neighbors and community members who came out to support the event.

It was great seeing families come together for an evening focused on kids, community, resources, safety, and fun.

Most of all, thank you again to the Tarken Coalition for Concerned Neighbors for everything you are doing for our neighborhood. Tarken Recreation Center is looking forward to continuing to work together on many more community events!

Tarken is excited to host the Target Coalition for Concerned Neighbors for this special community event!

Join us Friday, August 21st from 5-8pm for an evening of resources, connection, and family fun!

We’ll have free school supplies while supplies last, community organizations and resources, public safety information, games, music, giveaways and more.

A huge thank you to the Tarken Coalition for Concerned Neighbors for putting this event together and to all of the community partners joining us for the night.

Come meet your neighborhood group, learn more about what they’ve been doing in the community, and see how you can get involved! You’ll also have a chance to meet Tarken Playground and Ice Rink staff and learn about some of the new programs we have coming this fall.

If your child participated in our Art Camp or Regular Summer Camp, the creations they made during the Clay Studio and Clay Mobile visits are ready to be picked up at Tarken!

Please send us a message to arrange a pickup time. Someone should be in the recreation building from 1–8 PM this week, but please message us first to make sure, as some of our staff are on vacation.

Thank you for a great camp season! We made so many great memories and had such a fun summer with everyone. We can’t wait to see you all back at Tarken and on the ice soon!
