As NFL free agency has started my early thoughts
1. The raiders signing Jimmy G was a really bad move. To release Derek Carr for a more handsome version of him makes no sense. They still have the 4th best QB in there division and there defense still stinks.
2. I don’t get the 49ers signing javon hargrave. He is a great player but why use up more cap space on your biggest strength of your team.
3. I like the dolphins trading for jalen Ramsey. Yes there success really comes down to Tua health but the dolphins just moved up to a top 5 defense.
4. Jason Kelce coming back to Philly is huge for the eagles. As they are going to lose so much in free agency get back a leader is great for morale. It also allows cam jurgens to slot in at guard for the departing Isaac seumalo.
5. I like the panthers/ bears trade. The bears need players and got a pretty good receiver in DJ Moore and some good draft capital and I like the aggression the panthers show in jumping up to get there QB. Now who they choose will ultimately determine this trade. I personally like CJ Stroud best but bryce young will be good too. Stay away from Anthony Richardson and will levis.
6. I love the Steelers getting Patrick Peterson. He is on the backend of his career but he is still a good player and aligned with Minkah Fitzpatrick makes the Steelers secondary very good.
7. My last take is on the impending trade of Aaron rodgers to the jets. For the jets I guess I like the all in approach. Go get an elite QB to complete that team. It also makes a ton of sense for the packers. Move in and play jordan love and get a boat load of draft compensation. But for Aaron rodgers this makes no sense. He doesn’t gain any money and the path to a championship is actually harder moving to the AFC from the NFC. Have to play bills and dolphins twice plus still have to go through mahommes to get to superbowl where with packers you have to go through Kirk cousins and Jared Goff and once in playoffs the best QBs are jalen hurts, dak, and a bunch of dudes. Lol
