Absolutely heartbreaking day.... I did not get to run today in the class I should be in. The sled got wrecked as I let another driver(he seems to be fine, minor bumps and bruises) run it in the senior class which was several races before mine and could not get it fixed before my race....
Thrashing on the sled with Don and Parker brought back some memories of working on the race car with my dad and brother that was the only positive spin I could put on the whole deal.
We got the sled back together and we’re able to practice on our personal practice track thanks to Don Deitz, Tim Sorn, Mark Braeger, and my son Parker for all the help getting it lined out and back on the track.
I do have an opportunity to race tomorrow in a different class which has higher performance sleds than mine. Debating wether to run or not.
I felt like we had a top 10 or so sled and felt good about getting to the finals on Sunday, but we still have a fast sled and we learned a lot today so I will mark it up to experience and move on to tomorrow.
I will keep everyone posted.
This is the video of the accident... this was NOT me driving....
