This salsa class was different. I approached the class with no choreography. My plan was to teach each student the basic steps to salsa cadence. As they repeated the basic step in place, I asked them to listen to the beats. The music tells us which salsa moves to execute based on the rhythm of the beats.

Afterwards, I asked them to loosen up, dance freely and have fun!

We changed the music to a more upbeat song and created a routine together. We each chose a one 8 count salsa move and combine them to create a masterpiece. By the end of class, everyone was loose, sweating and having a good time. We actually choreographed two routines and danced through the entire song. šŸ”„
