🎯 DRILL OF THE WEEK: THE FLINCH TEST! 🎯
Do you flinch? 👀 There’s one way to find out!
This week we’re putting your fundamentals to the test with The Flinch Test — Load One, “Shoot” Two. Your first press goes BANG 💥… your second goes click. And that second trigger press might tell you more about your shooting than the first!
Did your sights dip? Did you push? Did you anticipate the shot? There’s your flinch!
📱 BONUS: Have a buddy film you (or set up your phone) so you can actually WATCH what happens on that second, dry trigger press.
Run it at least 5 times and keep working until that movement starts disappearing.
Sometimes getting better means finding out what you’re doing when you think you’re doing nothing. 😉
🎯 5 yards | Load One, “Shoot” Two | Minimum 5 reps
Come give this week’s Drill of the Week a try at Fletcher Arms!

🎯 TRAINING TIP TUESDAY: BOOM OR NO BOOM?! 💥

Think you've got a smooth trigger press? Let's put it to the test!

Ever notice your sights dip right before a shot breaks? That's a flinch, and it's more common than you think!

One of our favorite ways to catch it is with the Boom or No Boom Game, using SNAP CAPS!

Snap caps are inert dummy rounds that don't fire, but they're great for revealing what your hands are doing when you're expecting a BANG!

Here's the idea:

🔴 Mix snap caps into your training with live am******on, following your instructor's or RSO's guidance.

⚪ When you press the trigger and get a CLICK instead of a BOOM, pay attention! Did your muzzle dip? Did you anticipate recoil? Did you push the gun forward?

🔵 That's your flinch showing itself! The goal is to recognize that movement and work toward a smoother, more consistent trigger press.

The best part? You might not even realize you're anticipating recoil until the gun DOESN'T go bang!

Always use firearm-compatible dummy rounds, follow range rules, and keep your muzzle pointed safely downrange.

Come give it a try! Our team is happy to help you work on your fundamentals.

Better trigger control. Less anticipation. More confidence.
