‼️Story time‼️

We played at Manistique - Darius didn’t play this game. But he sure as heck won it for us! We started out sluggish, losing by 8 at the half. Our half time adjustment was simple - find a way to bring your own energy! We ended up outscoring them 50-25 in the 2nd half. And who brought the energy for us? Darius and our JV’s on the bench. After a time out, every basket or a big stop - I would turn around to see Darius just as engaged as the kids on the court. Fast forward 2 games - we played Ironwood @ home. Darius played the entire 2nd half and finished with 8 points, 2 big 3 pointers and 3 steals. His time finally came. Our crowd and team erupted for him the same way Darius did for us all season long (it was such a feel good moment, I may have cried a little in the locker room after the game for him lol). He is one of the best “teammates” I’ve had the privilege to coach. No excuses, shows up, works hard and doesn’t ever complain - just happy to be apart of something bigger than himself! In this new world where everyone thinks youth sports is all about the “starters,” be a Darius Weber. More teams need a Darius to be successful and I will live and die by that as a coach. Congratulations, Darius! Love ya, buddy!

We are still in need of concession stand workers for this Saturdays Hematite Madness tournament. Let’s help out the Ishpeming Schools Sport Booster Club who does a lot for our athletes every year!
