Thank you.

To every player who wore “The Burg” across their chest this season—thank you for your sacrifice, commitment, and belief in this organization. To those whose journey with the Cavaliers has come to an end, thank you for everything you gave to this program. Once a Cavalier, always a Cavalier.

To our coaching staff, team managers, bus driver, media team, DJ, photographers, graphic designer, cheerleaders, volunteers, the incredible staff at Richard Bland College, the City of Petersburg, our Mayor, City Council, city leadership, and every one of our sponsors—thank you for helping make this season possible.

And to Burg Nation…

You packed the stands.
You traveled the highways.
You believed in us every step of the way.

We will never take that support for granted.

Although this season didn’t end the way we envisioned, it will forever be remembered as one of the most memorable and successful seasons in our organization’s history.

Great players put up numbers.

Legends build legacies.

Yesterday, Elijah Moore ERM entered rare company, surpassing 2,000 career points as a Petersburg Cavalier.

Needing just 22 points to reach the milestone, Elijah didn’t just cross the line…

He dominated for 35 points and helped lead the Cavaliers to a playoff victory and a trip to the Final Four.

For years, he has been a cornerstone of this franchise. Through wins, losses, road trips, championships, playoff runs, and countless battles, he has represented the Burg with pride.

2,000 points is more than a number.

It’s years of sacrifice.

Years of showing up when it mattered most.

The regular season is complete, and the Petersburg Cavaliers have finished the journey exactly where we set out to be:

In our final home game of the regular season, the Cavaliers closed out Statesman Hall with authority, defeating the Goldsboro Wings 138-79.

1,245 Points. 1,000 Rebounds. One of One.

Yesterday, Tavon Mealy officially secured his 1,000th career rebound, becoming the first and only player in Petersburg Cavaliers history to record 1,000+ points and 1,000+ rebounds.

This milestone wasn’t built overnight.

It was built through years of commitment, toughness, sacrifice, and consistency.

While statistics tell part of the story, those who have watched Tavon compete understand what these numbers truly represent:

Every box out.
Every loose ball.
Every second effort.
Every screen.
Every defensive stop.
Every possession earned.

Over the course of his Cavaliers career, Tavon has accumulated 1,245 career points and still counting and now 1,000 career rebounds, establishing himself as one of the most impactful players to ever wear a Petersburg Cavaliers uniform.

To become the first player in franchise history to reach both milestones is more than an accomplishment—it is a legacy.
