A great teacher has passed. He will be missed.

We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of martial arts legend, Sensei Fumio Demura yesterday.

In the film industry, Fumio Demura was best known as Pat Morita's stunt double in the Karate Kid films, where his expertise was key to bringing the character of Mr. Miyagi to life. In the martial arts world, however, he was known for so much more. Sensei Demura was a well-established figure in Japanese karate; but his desire to spread the art extended beyond one country. In 1965, he moved to America and became one of the first true teachers in the United States of Sh*to-Ryu karate, as well as Okinawan kobudo. He taught and inspired thousands of students and served as a model of what a martial artist should strive to be, in training and in life.

Rest in Peace Sensei Fumio Demura. Your legacy will continue to live on.

The hall is open! BSMA classes will resume and are back to normal on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The closure of the Petersburg hall due to Covid cases continues. Ufortunately BSMA classes cannot resume yet this month. I hope for better news next month if not I may find an alternative.

I was just informed the Petersburg Veteran's hall is closed thru Monday, Jan 11, 2021 - town requested it due to Covid cases.

At this time, I have no choice but to cancel BSMA classes effective immediately. I will keep you posted when I know we can resume classes or if I find other suitable options. Sorry for the short notice.

This month, BSMA introduced classes every Tuesday for 5 year olds at 6:30P - 7:30P. Pass the word and feel free to visit. We need more numbers to keep this class that's focused on these younger kids. 😊

What do you say? Back at the Petersburg Hall starting next week in August: both Tues Kids and Thurs Adults @6:30 PM. How far can we go? One last get together at the park tomorrow. Let's see.. Usaaaa.....

Hello all students. Bad news first: No BSMA online workout class today.

Good news next: Moving outdoors next Thursday at Grafton State Park's Deerfield Pavilion @6:30PM.

Please follow social distancing rules or don't come! But I hope to see you all there. ;-)
