Many thanks to Argus-Courier Editor Matt Brown for allowing us the opportunity to express our gratitude. For those who don't subscribe, here is our "THANK YOU" to Petaluma.
EDITOR: On the morning of June 22, racers, spectators, volunteers, and local businesses and agencies gathered together at the Ellis Creek Water Recycling Facility and the Ellis Creek Wetlands for the running of the 2019 Petaluma Footrace. We would like to publicly thank those who played a part in bringing this historic race that supports the youth of Petaluma, back to town.
A big thank you to the Petaluma Argus-Courier/ Petaluma360 for always being willing to promote community events. Our sincerest thanks also to the Celebrate Community Partnership, Pure Luxury Transportation and the Press Democrat for generously granting us advertising space.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to the runners and walkers for participating in the race, to the enthusiastic cheerleaders, and to the kind volunteers for helping us manage it from start to finish. Without you all, there is no race!
Many thanks to Lagunitas Brewing Co for sponsoring the event, for donating beverages, and for running and volunteering. It was a pleasure working with the team of Jim Jacobs, Sarah Jane, and Karly. Thank you Keller Estate for donating wine for the top finisher prizes and to Elisabeth for hosting us at the Wine Club Pick Up Party!
Thank you to sponsors Comcast and Golden State Lumber. We would also like to thank sponsor Orangetheory Fitness Petaluma, the Petaluma Police Department, Speaklo Media (Thom Butler) and Capital Road Race Management for their race day participation.
Thank you to The City of Petaluma for allowing us access to the Ellis Creek Water Recycling Facility and Wetlands. Thank you to the early morning exercisers and bird watchers for sharing the trails at Shollenberger Park with us. To Kaiser Permanente Thrive, thank you for allowing the use of your parking lot. And many thanks to Rebekah, Sean and Dave at Revive Kombucha for sharing your space so that we could have a lively, finish line celebration!
A huge thank you to Chris Mason for starting this race back in 2005, for naming Mentor Me as a beneficiary in 2016, and for working with us every step of the way in 2019. We really could not have done it without him. And we are thrilled that Chris will be back next spring for the 2020 Petaluma Footrace!
We are fortunate and proud to live in Petaluma, California, where our supporters reflect the town’s spirit of cooperation, generosity, and shared responsibility for our youth.
With sincere thanks to the entire Petaluma community,
Kim Hospodar ~ Mentor Me
