Best birthday wishes go out to our delightful Doug Colville — his good humor, enthusiasm, and joie de vivre make him a pleasure to be around. Not to mention, he’s a da*n good shooter and a great partner!

Note: Doug was Best Man at Albert Woodbury and Caitlin’s wedding 48 years ago!

Where’s Ed ?
He’s been busy winning silver medals at the FPUSA National Tournament at the South Florida Petanque Club in lovely Lake Worth, Florida.
Congrats to our esteemed president Ed Porto and partner Shannon Hodge from Zanesfield Petanque Club for their success as a mixed doubles pair. Ed also took 2nd place in Men’s Doubles at the same tournament!

Greetings from the Sonoma County contingent who participated in the Las Vegas International Petanque tournament this past weekend.

PVPC's Bleys Rose successfully completed several days of workshops and training to obtain national certification as a petanque umpire. VOMPC's Bernard Passemar and PVPC President Ed Porto’s winning team secured a monetary prize.

PVPC's Albert Woodbury and Caitlin Woodbury delivered a strong performance on Saturday with a 3-1 record, but faced challenges on Sunday against higher-ranked opponents. They subsequently had the opportunity to observe exceptional play by top boulistes during the playoffs.

Our beloved Eddy Pay is gone.
We’ll miss his twinkling, mischievous smile, his joy, his warmth, his humor, his ever-inquisitive mind, and his friendship.
Our hearts go out to dear Beth.

What a party, what great people, and what great hosts! Our annual club potluck at SuperHosts Les and Kathy Stone’s gorgeous Petaluma home was more fun than a barrel of monkeys, thanks to organizer Donna von Edelkrantz and all the wonderful culinary contributions from our club members.

A good size contingent of PVPC players and spouses headed to Albion this weekend for the Ledford House Bastille Day tournament. We did well enough to have a good time, but perennial champions Mickey and Nicole from Ukiah reigned supreme again. What a great tournament and spectacular venue this is. Thanks to Tony and Lisa Geer and tournament organizer Pat, again, for always making this event such a success! Friends of The Ledford House Restaurant

We’re famous! Our little pétanque club is featured in the July edition of Stroll Oakhill Brewster, a hyperlocal magazine for the Oak Hill/Brewster neighborhood in Petaluma. Don’t we look good?
Deepest gratitude to president Ed Porto and Rob Everett for helping shine a light on our sport.

Wine Country Open in Sonoma was fabulous this weekend. Ed Porto and partner Maggie Lane did well in the Concours division, and Albert and Caitlin managed to eke out 2nd place in Consolante B. Mostly, it was a fun, competitive and congenial gathering of Petanque friends, old and new. Huge thanks for the VOMPC team for putting together such a great production.
