🚨Signup Announcement🚨

We are ready to make our annual pilgrimage to the Glacial Lakes region of South Dakota to visit our great friends at Hidden Hill Lodge in Roslyn, SD for another great weekend of fishing, friends, food, and fun! We don’t think Mother Nature will be in our way too much with ice like last year. The dates are:

May 3 to May 5th 2024

Head over to www.fishingwithvets.org to get signed up under the events tab, if you look closely you might find another trip signup available as well, to be announced tomorrow, but if you’d like to sign up feel free! As always all amenities for this trip are taken care of, all we ask is you provide transportation for yourself to and from the event and have a valid SD fishing license.

We use a ticketing software to sort our applications, you will receive a confirmation saying “you’re going” and a ticket. These are just confirmations that your application was received. Each application is for one person only! Those chosen for this outing will receive an email from our president Jeremy Colsen on
April 21st and further communication will follow.

We definitely had a hard time getting the fish to bite but luckily it was a nice day and everyone shared plenty of stories and laughs! Thank you to Fishing with Vets for letting be put this trip on each year and especially the volunteers that helped make this trip possible.

🚨Signup Announcement🚨

Let’s go for two in a row! Tonight’s announcement is for our next open water adventure! We are headed back out on one of our longest standing annual trips to see our good friends at McQuoid's Inn and Event Center on the Big Pond, Mille Lacs.

July 21 - 23 2023

We will be moving into McQuoid’s for a weekend of fun. Friday night we will be out on the big launch as a group, and Saturday we will spend the day out in the guide boats all over the lake. As always we have some great food in store and hopefully some quality time hanging around the bonfire in the evenings sharing stories and making some new memories. As always all we ask is for you to provide transportation to and from the event for yourselves.

Head over to www.fishingwithvets.org to get signed up, our signup process is the same as a ticket purchase, fill out the information required and submit, you will see a message saying you’re going and get a “ticket” in your email. This is the confirmation that your submission was received. Those selected to join us will receive an email from Jeremy Colsen on July 14th with further details. We’re excited for this trip and, as always, thank you for your service.

Bob knocks it outa the park with these posts! What an absolutely amazing weekend had by all. Thank you to Fishing with Vets for allowing me to be able to organize this event for our third year here. Thank you to our boat captains (Troy Krause, Connor Ebben, Chaz Miller, Paul Lukas) for donating their time, boat, gear, and experience with this great group of veterans. And thank you to everyone else that has supported this trip. I can’t wait for our next trips here on Green Bay!

🚨Signup Announcement🚨

We’ve been out west and spent time to the north, now it’s time to point the trucks and boats east and head out to Green Bay to chase pre-spawn ‘Eyes on the Peshtigo river and out into Green Bay. We’ve had some memorable trips over the last two years since we added this trip to the calendar and we are looking forward to getting out there again!

We will be there April 14-16th 2023

As always all amenities will be taken care of all we ask is Veterans provide transportation to and from the event.

We use a ticketing system for our registration. When you fill out the RSVP on our website it will say you’re going and you will receive a ticket as a confirmation email. This is all part of the registration process and if you are chosen for this trip you will receive an email from Jeremy Colsen on Monday April 3rd with more information.

🚨Signup Announcement🚨

It’s time for us to kick off signups for our first open water trip of the year. We’re headed for open water early this year, and to do that we are headed to Chamberlain, South Dakota to fish the Missouri River. This will be our maiden voyage to that area, because as we grow so does the trip menu!

We will be headed out March 24th to 26th, as always, all food and lodging will be provided all we ask is our Veterans provide transportation for themselves to and from the event.

It’s the week of the 4th HOOAH WI Veteran Su***de Awareness March and I am super pumped to do it again. The walk will be shorter this year because the miles represent the number of veterans that completed su***de is down this year. Last year the walk was 20 miles and I’m glad to see the number has gone down to 17 miles, that’s is essentially the idea behind the walk.
