📍 Kokomo Quarter Midget Club

We got our first taste of Midwest Thunder action at our home track. Over 200 cars throughout all of the classes and the entire place was packed.

Super proud of our little driver! On the first day he grabbed a heat race and a feature win, that were pretty uneventful for the most part. The second day, we spun on the first lap of the heat race from our first place starting spot. He regrouped and came back from sixth to end up third. He rolled off third for the feature and after a spirited battle for the lead they ended up tangling and going to the tail. He stayed focus, made some really good passes, and avoided some incidents to end up back in the lead with 2 to go. He got a good restart and hung on to pick up his second feature win of the weekend.

📍 Kokomo Quarter Midget Club

Déjà Vu 🏁🏁

Our little driver doubled up this weekend! He debuted his new car and it was fast! He took the win in each of his heat races each day. That put him on the pole for the feature both days, and he lead every lap to grab himself 2 more feature wins! It was a great weekend and all of our practice and improvements are finally all coming together. He did a great job both under green, and during cautions and did everything he was told to do. We are super excited for the rest of the season, and are getting eager to move him up to the next class! 🏁

Our next race day will be August 22-23 for our Midwest Thunder series race at Kokomo! We hope to see you there!

📍 Kokomo Quarter Midget Club

Koven got his first taste of a full 3 day race weekend, and woke up today asking if there was more racing. It was packed with a lot of action and some more learning. He got into his first actual tangle up while battling for the lead in lap traffic. That was quickly followed by his first trip to the hot pit where we got a flat tire replaced and a bent front end adjusted enough to get him back out to finish. All thanks to our racing friends that lended a hand to get him fixed up quick! He limped a bent car around but was able to still finish the race in fourth. He improved the second day with a second place finish, and then topped the weekend off with a WIN on Sunday morning. We are proud of our little man and can’t wait for the next triple header! 🏁

📍 Mini Indy QMC

We had a good evening at Mini Indy for another friday night lights! We had 7 red rookies. Koven was able to win his heat race and put himself on the front row for the feature. He showed a lot more speed than our first time at Mini Indy and had a great battle with one of his racing buddies for the first part of the race. He made an awesome pass in traffic to take the lead and went on to win the race! It was a great night out and we are looking forward to seeing everyone again this weekend at KQMC!

Friday Night Lights! May 15/Saturday May 16th
📍 Kokomo Quarter Midget Club

We had a big rookie car count this weekend and got some good seat time. Friday under the lights he was nice and smooth but just didn’t have the speed we’d been working on. He got a third place in his heat race and a third in the feature. Saturday morning after a hearty donut and popcorn breakfast he came out on the gas. He made a last lap pass for the win in his heat race. That put him on the pole of the feature and he went on to lead every lap for the win! 🥇 He got some experience responding to yellows and pacing the field back to green, and even a few accident avoidance courses throughout the race. We are very proud of his effort this weekend!

April 18/19 2026
📍Kokomo Quarter Midget Club

Our rookie quarter midget season began March 29 at rookie day orientation, followed by opening weekend on April 18th and 19th. The first day had its own battles but he learned some basics and got comfortable in the car. The second day he came out as a whole new driver. He took a third place finish in his heat race and then drove from 3rd to 1st to get his first ever feature win! 🏁

We are so proud of his performance on track and his willingness to listen and consume the information that is given to him by Halen and also by the track officials who have been awesome. We are excited for the rest of the season. Our next outting will be on Friday May 15th under the lights, followed by a day time race day the following day. We hope to see you there!

‼️ Page Update ‼️

2026 looks a bit different for us this year. Koven has begun his open wheel adventures. Dad isn’t ready to hang up his wheel just yet but the main focus this year will be on Koven and his quarter midget. We have updated the page and will keep everyone updated with both of our on track activities. More cars and more racing also comes with even more costs; if you or someone you know may be interested in helping a young racer get a solid start to his career we would love a chance to create a partnership. We are just another small family ran team trying to have fun and stay competitive in the sport that we love. No amount of help is too big or too small.

The season is already off to a good start, and I will make a separate post shortly on what all Koven has gotten to experience so far. We are looking forward to the rest of the year and hope to see you guys at the track soon!

22 Wing Cars

Heat Race: 4th to 4th

Feature: 14th to 12th

Been a while since we’ve been out to the track. Not quite the results we aim for, but not a bad night out with the new motor. Got some bugs worked out and made a little speed. Saw some friends we hadn’t seen in a while and enjoyed some family time out at the track. Between life and work we aren’t sure when we will be back out again next, but we hope to be back out soon!

Miami County Raceway

Heat: 4th to 3rd
Feature: 7th to 5th

After a ton of rain, they managed to get us a show in. Track was pretty rough and there wasn’t a lot of passing but we managed to go forward in both races and had some fun working a tough track. Props to the track and their crew for their efforts and getting the show in.
