Been a long time since I have been able to focus on making some badass American made jigheads and jigs, but they are coming! Appreciate everyone's patience and business. Hug your loved ones and get ready for cooler weather.

Jig and jighead colors do matter in the equation but scent brings it home. Check out the quality scent products available here. Lotta crap on the market but crappie in the boat speaks volumes. Just saying. ........

Congrats to Jacob Walker and Forrest Walker on their 1st Place win today on Logan Martin. Some of the most genuine folks you will meet and darn good fishermen on any water. Glad to call them friends and see them win. They do alot of homework and waterwork to find the big fish. Think they use some pretty good baits too!

We all fish hard. We all fish to do the best measured by anyone who fishes against us. But there are a few that fish with the heart to put fishing aside to help a angler in need. Yep, happened to me today. Running and gunning hard all day. Headed in early to get ready for the weighin and bam.......dead in the water. A Mr. Crappie ambassador stopped on his way into the weighin to help tow me back. He and his partner (wife) gave up a spot in the weighin line to help get me back to the ramp. We'll never know how much they could have weighed in. Pretty sure they had 10+ lbs from what I saw! Wally Marshall, you picked the right members for your team.

I drove all the way home expecting to be upset at my misfortune, yet all I could think about was how good I felt knowing I had friends who would put everything else on hold to stop and help me. Thank you Ron & Pat Wallace, Jamie Moore, Justin Churchwell, Robby Huff, and everyone else that tried to help or offer suggestions and recommend the best service people to get me back going.

Now to the tournament........14 eager teams spread out all over Lake Sinclair to find better than average crappie. Mild weather helped, but also made the fishing hard to figure when it's January feeling like April after a Alaska weekend prior. I unfortunately don't have all the details due to my late attendance to the weighin. I will get some from the top 5 along with some pictures soon, I hope. Pretty sure longline trolling was king, but how high or low and areas are as usual under a top secrete file. I can say as just an average angler........use your Navionics to find major contour changes in the mouths to half way in the coves and creeks close to the river channel. That worked for me today. No prefishing, just map homework. Brought home a great mess of fillet fish hitting those areas, despite the mechanical issues.

Here's a pic of the weigh in sheet. Thank you also goes to Brandy McCoy for taking up my slack. Great job, and you may also have been recruited for my replacement! Jamie Moore also stepped up again to keep things smooth knowing alot of anglers wanted to get home to see the Falcons win again.
