We had a great time talking to people and even introducing a few people to horses for the very first time! Trinity’s trunk or treat gets better every year! Than you to everyone on our team who helped with the horses!

A good part of riding well is strength and balance, and that starts on the ground. This is an easy way to test your balance when you’re not in the saddle!

If you’ve been following along the new mustangs progress, you know we’ve been debating names. We have decided that Seven really fits him. The spiritual number of completion, the lucky number, and his tag number started with a seven. So far we love his cool calm demeanor. He is very passive in the herd but doesn’t get pushed around too much. He will share his grain with Gus or Rory most days. What’s interesting about Seven is that he has the authority to push around other horses but he rarely uses it. He has been kind and curious with the lesson kids and visitors. He has also picked up the round pen work easily with no fuss or drama. We are so excited to get Seven halter broke and introduce him to more of our “domestic” life!

The best way to keep our horses from getting bored is to get out and ride in the “real world”. Ride through the woods, ride through the water, climb the hills, follow the trails and ride on different types of footing! A lot of young horses like a challenge and get tired of loping circles. It lets them explore and stop worrying about leads or headsets. It builds different muscles and tends to leave you with a more relaxed horse. Let your horse get out and touch grass and see what happens!

Sparrow had a stressful first saddling so we are taking more time to prepare him for a calm first ride! He is so smart and kind. We are so excited to start riding this Mustang c**t!
