Panther Nation, we would like to welcome Coach Watson and his family to Perry High School as the Head Baseball Coach and Assistant Softball Coach! We are excited to have him join the Panther family and look forward to the leadership, passion, and experience he will bring to our students and athletic programs.
Here is a bio of Coach Watson:
Coach Watson, a native of Dallas, Georgia, attended Allatoona High School where he played under Georgia Dugout Club Hall of Famer Keith Hansen. Following high school, he continued his playing career at Itawamba Community College before finishing at the University of West Georgia.
Coach Watson enters his 13th season coaching high school baseball, with coaching stops at South Paulding, Chapel Hill, and Rome High School. Most notably, he served as Head Coach at Chapel Hill High School, where he led the Panthers to three consecutive playoff appearances, highlighted by the program’s first Sweet 16 appearance in eight seasons.
Throughout his career, Coach Watson has built his coaching philosophy around the concept of “Process” — doing things the right way regardless of outcome. He is committed to building a program rooted in integrity, grit, hard work, discipline, and commitment. His vision for Perry Baseball extends beyond wins and losses, focusing on developing young men who will become outstanding husbands, fathers, leaders, and representatives of the Perry community.
Coach Watson believes strongly in the importance of relationships and values the opportunity to partner with parents, faculty, administration, and community members to create a championship culture both on and off the field. He is excited to invest in the traditions of Perry while helping lead the program into its next chapter.
Coach Watson and his wife, Kelly, are active in their church community and have a passion for serving others. Together, they recently established a collegiate student ministry out of their home. They are excited to make Perry their home and become a part of the Panther community.
Go Panthers!
