This is Buck Fever Food Plot’s “Pea Salad Blend”. It has 4 different kinds of white bloom peas in it along with cereal rye and a hybrid turnip. The first photo was taken on October 1st and the second 2 photos were today (Nov 6th). I put a 32oz cup in the cage for a height reference. Outside of the cage you can’t hardly find a pea over 2” tall, very few of the turnips are over 2-3” tall. Notice how much growth has happened in the last month now that we got some rain and the temps cooled off a bit. This is also why I tell guys to put cages in their plots because without it you would think the peas in this blend didn’t grow. Notice how inside the cage everything is taller in the middle, that because the deer are sticking their noses through the cage and eating what they can reach around the edges.

This is a plot of pea salad planted on August 14th. You have a hard time finding the peas in this plot and the close up picture shows why. The deer are absolutely hammering this plot. They search out the peas and eat the heck out of them!

I hadn’t posted any pictures for awhile so I thought I’d share some today. These are photos of my turnip plot. It always amazes me how the deer work the turnips once it gets cold and some snow on the ground. The last night I hunted over this plot there were 28 deer in this plot.
