Saying goodbye to one of my sweet pitchers as she heads to Florida.
Brooklyn has grown so much during our time together. From barely understanding the pitching motion to consistently hitting 57 mph on the radar, her growth has been incredible to watch. She now commands three pitches and is ready to add a fourth, but what makes Brooklyn special isn’t the speed or the movement. It’s that she pitches because she truly loves the game of softball and the art of pitching.
Brooklyn, I hope Florida and Florida softball are just as good to you as Iowa has been. You have left a lasting impact on my heart and on this program. Watching you grow as a pitcher and as a person has been an honor.
This isn’t goodbye. It’s simply a “see you later” and a great excuse for me to come watch you pitch.
Wishing you nothing but success in this next chapter. Florida is getting a good one.
