Hi Impact families! Coach Emma here, and I wanted to reintroduce myself.

My name is Emma (Olejniczak) Thornton, and I am currently a school counselor at Des Moines Christian. When I’m not at school, I love coaching the game of softball—especially pitching.

I am the owner of Impact Fastpitch, which will be turning five years old this year. INSANE! Where does the time go?!

Impact Fastpitch was created to give young softball pitchers the opportunity to make an IMPACT on the game, just like softball has made such a tremendous impact on my life.

When I’m not giving pitching lessons, I’m coaching my alma mater, the Perry Jayettes, on the varsity softball field. While wearing the Perry uniform, I set two IGHSAU records and multiple school records, including strikeouts in a season and career strikeouts. I then went on to play five years of Division I softball.

Today, kids and coaching are my passion and my livelihood. My goal is to help every athlete I work with grow in confidence, develop their skills, and fall in love with the game. I hope I have the opportunity to leave a lasting impact on both softball and the amazing athletes and families who are a part of Impact Fastpitch.
