Skydive Perris Best skydiving center in the world! 💙

Five years ago, Holly never imagined she’d be earning her skydiving license. At 27, she’s gone from stepping way outside her comfort zone to finding a place in the sky that feels like home.

Every jump made the fear got a little quieter, and somewhere along the way, what once felt intimidating became second nature!

Her biggest piece of advice? Don’t compare your journey to anyone else’s. Holly took a little longer than some of the people she started with, but as she puts it, the only person you’re in competition with is yourself. Show up for yourself, do your best, and trust the process.

Congratulations, Holly! Here’s to pushing limits, finding confidence, and discovering just how far you can go! 💙🤩

Meet the Perris Legend- Craig O’Brien 🎥

From World Championship skydives to Hollywood movie sets, Craig O’Brien has had quite the career behind the camera!

Craig made his first jump in 1993, and just four years later, he moved to Perris, took a job as an electrician, and teamed up with skysurfer Tanya Garcia to form Team Firestarter.

Together, they became one of the most successful skysurfing teams in the sport, earning five USPA National titles and three FAI Championship titles. Somewhere along the way, they also got married in 1999!

But Craig’s career behind the lens didn’t stop with skysurfing.

He’s filmed everything from massive world-record formations, including the 400-way, to wingsuit and head-down records. His work has even taken him to Hollywood, with credits on productions like Godzilla, Kingsman, Charlie’s Angels, and Mission: Impossible.
In 2024, Craig received the USPA Gold Medal for Meritorious Service, recognizing his incredible contributions to the sport.

And after all these years, Craig is still a familiar face around Perris, camera in hand, with just as much passion for his work as ever.

He’s spent decades capturing skydiving history, all while making plenty of his own. 💙

Meet the Perris Legends: Wuest Ways!

What started as a celebration for one skydiver’s 1,000th jump has turned into nearly 40 years of friendship, big-ways, and a whole lot of memories!

In September 1987, Doug and Marilyn Wuest invited a group of friends to celebrate Marilyn’s 1,000th skydive. Everyone had so much fun that they decided to do it again. And again. Before long, Wuest Ways became a regular tradition.

This was long before cell phones, email, or Facebook events. Doug and Marilyn organized jumps by mailing letters, collecting messages on their answering machine, and using phone trees when weather canceled the day. Talk about dedication!

Over the years, Wuest Ways has brought generations of skydivers together at Skydive Perris and Skydive Elsinore, organizing big-way formations, annual Christmas jumps, and plenty of opportunities for jumpers of all ages and experience levels to share the sky.

In 2017, Doug and Marilyn received the USPA Regional Achievement Award, recognizing 30 years of organizing, mentoring newer skydivers, and bringing people together through the sport.

And the tradition continues! Nearly four decades later, Wuest Ways is still bringing people together, proving that skydiving is about so much more than just the jumps.

When Marilyn was once asked why they kept doing it, her answer was simple: “The people, of course!” ❤️
And really, isn’t that what makes Perris so special?

Meet the Perris Legends: Visions — later known as Coors.

Beginning in 1979 as Visions, the Perris-based team became a powerhouse in 4-, 8-, and 10-way competition. Over the next several years, they collected more than 10 National and World titles, set multiple world sequential records, and became World Champions in 1983 and 1985.

But eventually, their story took a pretty incredible turn.
The team transitioned from competition into the Coors demonstration team, taking skydiving to audiences around the world. Throughout the 1980s, they performed more than 30 exhibitions a year, jumping at everything from NASCAR and NFL games to air shows, festivals, and major international events. And then there were the Olympics.

Members of the team performed at the 1984 Olympic Opening Ceremony in Los Angeles and again at the 1988 Olympic Opening Ceremony in Seoul, along with demonstration jumps across five countries.

From standing on world championship podiums to bringing skydiving into stadiums packed with spectators, Visions/Coors helped show the world what was possible in our sport.

And it all has a place in Perris history.

There’s nothing like watching the skills, confidence, and hard work come together. We love those lightbulb moments! 💡

Congratulations Amrutesh on earning your A license! Despite what they say, the sky is never the limit, just the beginning! 💙

Meet the Perris Legends: Christy Frikken

If you’ve spent any time at Perris, chances are you know Christy Frikken. And if you’ve ever had the opportunity to jump with her, you know just how much she loves this sport.

Christy came to Perris in 2003 as one of the first wind tunnel instructors, and more than 20 years later, she’s still a huge part of our community.

In 2005, she co-founded Perris Fury, a competitive 4-way team that went on to become one of Perris’ most successful formation skydiving teams. Fury competed at USPA Nationals for six consecutive years, earning multiple silver and bronze medals along the way.
But Christy’s impact goes well beyond competition.
She was named USPA Skydiver of the Year in 2007, has earned multiple national and international competition medals, holds several Women’s World Records, and has logged more than 18,000 skydives!

She’s also spent years sharing that experience with others. From coaching more than 20 teams through the Fury-8 project to organizing big-ways and helping jumpers develop their skills, Christy has dedicated a huge part of her career to helping other skydivers succeed.

In 2019, she co-founded the Perris Fresh Meet with Celine Pelletier, creating an event focused on bringing newer jumpers together to learn, improve, and experience the community that makes this sport so special.

And that’s probably one of the coolest things about Christy. With all the accomplishments she’s collected over the years, she’s still out there doing what she loves and helping others do the same.

More than 20 years at Perris, and she’s still making a difference in the sport and community. 💙
