Tigers go out and get a W on an early Sunday morning.

Tough weekend for the crew going 1-2 in the tournament but faced some great teams and gained some character in the face of adversity.

1 more tournament to go and Tigers season comes to an end.

Some much needed revenge in an early game today.

Tigers jumped out early on the slammers and held the lead behind an incredible outing by Blake Boehmke.

Blake went 6 innings surrendered only 3 hits no earned runs and 6 strikeouts.

Xavier and George Myers led the team with 2 hits each and the team hit really well amassing 10 hits and 6 walks.

Onto the semi finals in our first tournament of the year. These boys are showing rapid growth.

Tough loss to start the season. Pitchers did a great job all game and defense kept us in it. Ultimately losing 6 to 3 in the 6th inning.

When there is an expectation of players to be aggressive on the bases. There must be an equal amount of training put into the skills and techniques of running the bases.

This includes a players ability and comfort to draw a throw back. The ability and technique required to get back safely each and every time.

The ability to read the pitchers timing and rhythm.

The ability to get an aggressive secondary lead that takes away the catchers time to make a throw and places pressure on the catcher to make a perfect throw.

Knowing how to slide into a base while putting the runner in the best position possible to take advantage of defensive mistakes and miscues.

The running game deserves dedicated time blocks.

The side effects of properly working the run game are longer range in the skill positions from working fast twitch muscle.

More power in the legs for pitching, catching and throwing.

Confidence that any player can make a major impact on a game.

And outfielders get faster and can cover more ground.

We are pouring a tremendous amount of time and effort in this area of the game so that as we grow, we can keep the pressure on defenses.

Tigers family, today’s focus is getting better one rep at a time. We show up, we do the little things right, and we pick each other up. Proud of the effort this week. Keep grinding, stay coachable, and play for each other. Go Tigers.
