As the 2025 World Police and Fire Games in Birmingham, Alabama come to a close, I’m proud to highlight an incredible week of competition and camaraderie. Joey Smith and Mark Spruill competed as part of Team CBP NMU, a squad made up entirely of dedicated law enforcement professionals, representing their agencies with pride and precision.
Together, Team CBP NMU earned a total of six medals in the B Class shotgun events:
Team Medal Results (B Class):
🥈 Silver – Trap Singles
🥇 Gold – Handicap Trap
🥇 Gold – Trap Doubles
🥇 Gold – S***t Singles
🥉 Bronze – S***t Doubles
🥇 Gold – Sporting Clays
In addition to the team’s outstanding performance, Spruill also earned an individual medal:
🥉 Bronze – Trap High Overall (B Class)
Both Smith and Spruill are proud members of Bushy Creek Clays, a premier facility they credit for its excellent fields and supportive shooting environment — key factors in their preparation and success.
Their achievements reflect not only personal commitment but also the strength of the law enforcement shooting community. They credit much of their performance to fellow shooters, mentors, and friends who generously shared tips and techniques along the way.
The camaraderie among shotgun competitors is something they deeply admire — a spirit where rivals become supporters and everyone shares in the goal of helping each other excel. This week was about more than medals — it was about unity, mutual respect, and showcasing the skills and professionalism of law enforcement and first responders from around the world.
