AirQuest Paragliding Certified Glider Inspection/Repair Service Center Make sure your reserve parachute is freshly packed, at least once a year. Thanks

FLY.BE.SAFE

Grit collects in the reserve parachute (causing damage through abrasion). Damp from ballast and wet grass can seep into the reserve (causing mildew and hampering opening time). The fabric gets compressed which delays opening. Packing elastics can perish, badly packed reserves can slide out of nappies, loops can tangle, and pins can get damaged. All materials degrade with age, even when not used. A

lthough you can repack one yourself following the manufacturer's instructions, we recommend using a professional service to ensure it's done right and that the canopy gets a thorough inspection on a light table (at least every 2 years). Steerable reserves are more complicated to pack. We do offer a reserve repacking service by USHPA certify instructor. Let's us know if you will have questions.

This is how it’s done.

A damaged section is carefully repaired with a professionally sewn patch, color-matched to the original fabric. Clean work, proper technique, and a result that restores both strength and appearance.

We also perform a air pressure test to make sure everything is within spec and safe to fly.

Done right, it’s hard to spot unless you’re specifically looking for it.

Full line set replacement usually doesn’t require a trim check, but we ran one anyway and found something unexpected.

The B lines measured 25–30 mm short. After checking the risers, it turned out the BC system had shrunk and was preventing the B lines from extending properly.

We replaced the lines on both risers, and the issue is now resolved.

This wing came in with some pretty serious leading edge damage.

To fix it properly we had to open the nose, remove the damaged sections, and replace one panel before sewing everything back together.

The last photo shows the wing hanging again for inspection after the repair. Always nice to see it back in one piece.

Final quality control. This is the last update in this repair series.

From receiving the wing with tree landing damage to completing panel replacement and internal structural work, this is the final step before handoff. The canopy is fully laid out for inspection and then pressurized to confirm airworthiness and ensure nothing was overlooked.

Comprehensive repair means the job is not finished until the wing passes full inspection.
Ready to be handed back to the customer.

If your wing needs repair, inspection, or structural work, send it to Airquest Paragliding

To repair the internal structure, the bottom panel was opened, work completed inside, and the panel sewn back in place.

On a modern 2-liner D wing, this level of repair isn’t simple. It requires skill, experience, and careful attention to detail.

The wing is now back to prime condition, with only a full inspection remaining.

Repair work continuing on the tree-landed wing.

The new top panels are sewn in, and we’re now rebuilding parts of the internal structure to restore the canopy properly.

Structural canopy repairs and panel replacement are part of the services we handle at Airquest Paragliding.

We’ll share the final result once everything is complete.
