Our beloved Cheatham will be heading to the university of Champaign animal hospital this week to remove a mass on his leg and get it tested as he has had a few of them appear throughout his 25 years of life and we would love to be able to know what they truly are so we can stop them before they get out of hand (if they just so happen to appear again) we initially thought they were sarcoids but are wondering if it is some sort of mass/cell cancer so we are hoping for a positive outcome after this!

We are looking at an overnight stay for him on top of surgery and anesthesia which is putting us at roughly $1000 pending everything goes smoothly.

Let’s rewind to last Saturday.

We took 5 horses and 9 riders to a new venue (in the rain) that was not very accommodating to one rider riding multiple horses so it started out beyond chaotic. There were some tears shed while the paperwork got redone 3 times but by the end of the day the sun came out, the rain broke, and the vibe settled down and the girls showed their true grit and pulled it together phenomenally!

Some of them had to switch up their original plans and ride horses they weren’t fully used to riding which made things even more hectic as well!

Everyone got through their hiccups and worked with their horses and ended the day (bc boy was it a looong day) with at least one ribbon in their hands and a smile on their faces so it made everything worth it by the end!

I’m thankful I have students willing to compromise through intense moments and push through their fears to actually get things done 💪💪
