The mission of Peoria Muay Thai is to teach the "Art of Eight Limbs" to the Peoria Community, making it accessible to a broad audience of people. We warmly welcome competitive fighters, as well as those who seek to improve their technique, fitness, confidence, and sense of self. MUAY THAI: Using stand-up striking (boxing, powerful kicks, knees, and elbows) with various clinching techniques, Muay Thai is more than 700 years old. Originating in Thailand, with origins in the ancient battlefield tactics of the Siamese (or Thai) army, Muay Thai is the modern day national sport of Thailand. Universally acknowledged as possessing some of the most effective striking techniques, Muay Thai is much more than an aggressive display of violence, but a sport deeply rooted in tradition, history and respect.
